Honda car is preparing to introduce the updated Elevate in India, and the upcoming facelift appears to bring more than just routine cosmetic changes. The new SUV’s teaser images reveal styling elements that closely resemble the WR-V TrailSport HRC Concept showcased by Honda in Japan earlier this year.
Honda has officially confirmed that pre-launch bookings for the new Elevate have opened, with the updated SUV scheduled to make its India debut on October 6, 2026. India will also be the first market globally to receive the new Elevate.
The connection between the upcoming Elevate facelift and the WR-V TrailSport HRC Concept can be seen mainly in their front and rear lighting treatments.
The TrailSport HRC Concept was unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 as part of Honda’s new Trail Line direction. Honda described the Trail Line as a future family of models incorporating knowledge and technology developed through off-road racing activities involving Honda Racing Corporation.
The WR-V was one of several Honda SUVs displayed in TrailSport HRC Concept form, alongside the CR-V, ZR-V and Vezel.
The upcoming Elevate does not appear to be an HRC performance version. Instead, the visual connection seems to come from the design language used on the concept.
One of the most noticeable changes is the new lighting signature at the front.
The facelifted Elevate is shown with a redesigned upper front section featuring multiple illuminated elements. A similar three-section lighting treatment can be seen on the WR-V TrailSport HRC Concept.
The new arrangement gives the Elevate a wider and more modern appearance compared with the outgoing model. The headlights themselves appear to retain a familiar basic shape, while the surrounding grille and lighting elements receive more substantial changes.
The Honda logo is another interesting detail. On the outgoing Elevate, the badge is positioned prominently within the grille. On the facelift, teaser images indicate that the Honda emblem has moved higher onto the bonnet area, a design cue also seen on the WR-V TrailSport HRC Concept.
The design connection is not limited to the front.
The updated Elevate is expected to feature connected rear lighting, with a horizontal illuminated element linking the tail-lamp assemblies. This gives the rear a wider visual appearance and brings the SUV closer to Honda's newer global design direction.
The TrailSport HRC concept also featured a distinctive horizontal lighting treatment across the tailgate.
While the two vehicles are not identical, the similarities suggest that Honda may be using some of the visual themes demonstrated through its Japanese concepts for future production models.
Honda introduced its Trail Line and HRC-spec concepts at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026. The objective was to explore a more adventurous interpretation of Honda SUVs.
The TrailSport HRC Concept models were developed around the idea of combining SUV practicality with a more dynamic and rugged visual character. Honda said the concepts incorporate expertise gained by HRC through off-road racing activities.
The WR-V-based concept featured an adventure-focused appearance, including chunky tyres, dark wheels, roof-mounted equipment, contrasting exterior details and HRC-inspired graphics.
The production Elevate facelift, however, is expected to remain a conventional road-focused SUV. The resemblance is therefore primarily about styling rather than confirmation of a mechanical or performance connection.
The exterior is not the only area receiving attention.
Honda's teasers have also indicated a refreshed cabin for the new Elevate. The dashboard is expected to receive revised trim and upholstery, while lighter-coloured materials and ambient lighting could give the interior a more premium appearance.
Honda has officially described the new Elevate as offering a bolder design and a more premium cabin experience, along with several feature enhancements.
Some additional equipment is also expected, although Honda has not yet revealed the complete feature list.
Possible updates include:
Updated touchscreen infotainment system
Ventilated front seats
Improved cabin trim
Ambient lighting
Additional convenience features
Revised exterior lighting
Updated alloy wheel designs
Connected rear LED lighting
The final equipment list and variant-wise availability will be confirmed at launch.
The facelift is expected to retain the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.
The current engine produces around 121hp and 145Nm and is paired with either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic. Current information indicates that the facelift is likely to continue with this core mechanical package rather than receiving a completely new engine.
This means Honda appears to be concentrating the facelift primarily on styling, cabin upgrades and equipment rather than a major mechanical overhaul.
A hybrid powertrain has been discussed in the past, but there is currently no official confirmation that the facelifted Elevate will receive Honda's strong-hybrid system.
Honda Cars India has already started accepting pre-launch bookings for the new Elevate.
Customers can book the SUV through authorised Honda dealerships across India by paying a booking amount of Rs 21,000. The official launch is scheduled for October 6, 2026.
Honda has also positioned India as the lead market for this updated SUV, making the facelift particularly important for the company's Indian portfolio.

The connection with the WR-V TrailSport HRC Concept makes the facelift particularly interesting from a design perspective.
Honda appears to be moving the Elevate toward a more contemporary global SUV design language while retaining the basic identity of the existing model. The repositioned Honda badge, redesigned lighting and connected rear lamps could give the SUV a significantly fresher appearance.
However, buyers should not interpret the TrailSport HRC resemblance as confirmation that the Elevate will receive HRC-developed performance equipment or off-road hardware. Honda's official announcement describes the Trail Line and HRC concepts as showcasing a future design and technology direction, while the production Elevate's confirmed details remain focused on its facelift and feature enhancements.
With the launch only days away, Honda is expected to reveal the complete specifications, variant structure, features and pricing of the new Elevate on October 6.
For now, the biggest takeaway is clear: the new Honda Elevate facelift is bringing a more aggressive visual identity, and its styling appears to share notable design cues with Honda's WR-V TrailSport HRC Concept.
