Mercedes-Benz India has officially launched the India-made Mercedes-Maybach GLS, priced at ₹2.75 crore (ex-showroom). This marks a significant milestone for the brand, as the luxury SUV is now locally assembled in India for the first time — making India the only market outside the United States to build the ultra-premium GLS Maybach locally.

By switching from being a fully imported (CBU) model to local assembly, the Maybach GLS has become approximately ₹42 lakh more affordable compared to its previous imported price of around ₹3.17 crore — a strategic move that improves accessibility and shortens delivery timelines for Indian buyers.

Under the hood, the India-assembled Maybach GLS continues with its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and mild-hybrid technology. This powertrain produces around 557 hp and 770 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in about 4.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited).

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS stands out with signature design elements, including a large chrome-finished Maybach grille, 23-inch forged alloy wheels, and distinctive Maybach badging.
Inside, it offers ultra-luxury comfort and technology tailored for executive travel:
These features make the Maybach GLS a strong contender in the ultra-luxury SUV segment, going head-to-head with rivals such as the Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Mercedes-Benz India has highlighted that local assembly of the Maybach GLS is part of its broader strategy to deepen its market presence and cater to growing luxury demand in India. The country has now become one of the top five global markets for Mercedes-Maybach vehicles, underscoring India’s rising significance for the brand.
With the new pricing and local production, the Maybach GLS is expected to attract more Indian luxury buyers, offering a combination of bespoke comfort, cutting-edge technology, and shorter lead times — all while showcasing Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to the Indian premium automotive market.
