Mahindra is all set to start Production S, X, T in 2027

Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that production of its highly anticipated Vision S, Vision X, and Vision T models is scheduled to begin in 2027, marking a key step in the company’s future SUV lineup strategy. These models originate from concept vehicles unveiled in August 2025, developed on the brand’s new NU_IQ platform, which supports both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric powertrains.

The production rollout will take place across Mahindra’s manufacturing facilities. Derivatives of the Vision X and Vision T will initially be built at the Chakan plant, before being shifted to the Nagpur facility later in the production cycle. Meanwhile, the Vision S derivatives are planned to be manufactured directly at the Nagpur plant, part of Mahindra’s ₹15,000 crore investment to enhance capacity for next-generation vehicles.

Mahindra’s strategy reflects broader market trends, with larger SUVs (over four metres in length) accounting for about 60 % of demand in India and smaller sub-4-metre SUVs covering the remaining 40 %. To support increasing demand—especially amid strong interest in electric variants like the XUV700’s EV version, the XEV 9S—the automaker is also planning production expansions and left-hand-drive (LHD) vehicle rollouts from 2028.
