Volkswagen India is preparing to reveal the updated Volkswagen Taigun in India on 9th April 2026. This will be the SUV’s first significant upgrade since its 2021 debut, introducing styling changes, new features, and possibly some mechanical updates.

According to recent spy images, the refreshed Taigun may sport a redesigned front end with connected LED daytime running lights and a lit-up logo, in line with newer global Volkswagen models such as the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. It is also expected to receive new alloy wheel designs and minor tweaks at the rear, including updated tail lamps. New exterior colour options could be added as well.

Inside, the SUV is likely to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system, an updated digital instrument cluster, and ambient lighting. It may also feature additions such as a panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors, and improved seat functions to enhance comfort and convenience.

Mechanically, the facelifted Volkswagen Taigun is expected to continue with the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines. However, the 1.0-litre variant might receive a new eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the current six-speed torque converter.
With these upgrades, prices are likely to rise slightly from the current starting point of Rs. 11.42 lakh (ex-showroom), with an expected increase of around Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000.
