Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has published the brochure for the ADV160, offering a more detailed look at the adventure-inspired scooter planned for the Indian market. The latest information covers its engine, dimensions, equipment, connectivity features, storage capacity and safety technology.

However, some important details remain unavailable in the published specifications. These include the scooter's official fuel-efficiency figures and seat height, information that could help buyers assess its running costs and everyday usability.

The Honda ADV160 was priced at ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) when bookings opened in August 2026. The model is positioned in India's premium scooter segment, where it will compete with products such as the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160.

Honda ADV160: Engine and Performance

The ADV160 is powered by a 156.93cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a four-valve configuration. According to the latest published brochure information, the engine produces 12 kW, equivalent to approximately 16.3 PS, at 8,750 rpm and develops 14.9 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.

The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission, making the scooter suitable for urban commuting and longer journeys without requiring manual gear changes.

Honda's engine technology package includes programmed fuel injection, eSP+ technology, an Idling Stop System and an ACG starter. These features are intended to support smoother operation and improve efficiency during everyday riding.

One of the ADV160's most notable features is its compatibility with ethanol-blended fuels ranging from E20 to E85. This gives the scooter a distinctive position in India's two-wheeler market, as it is being introduced as the country's first E85-compatible scooter.

Nevertheless, the manufacturer has not yet published official mileage figures for the Indian model, leaving buyers without a confirmed indication of its real-world fuel consumption.

Adventure-Inspired Design and Practical Features

The Honda ADV160 features styling inspired by adventure motorcycles, including a tall windscreen, dual LED headlamps, distinctive bodywork and a stepped seat. Its elevated stance gives it a different appearance from conventional automatic scooters.

The scooter measures 1,966 mm in length, 758 mm in width and 1,116 mm in height. Its 1,333 mm wheelbase and 175 mm ground clearance are relevant for buyers who regularly encounter uneven roads and speed breakers.

The ADV160 also gets block-pattern tyres, with a 110/80 front tyre and a 130/70 rear tyre. These are designed to complement its crossover-inspired character, although the scooter should not be confused with a dedicated off-road motorcycle.

The overall design aims to combine everyday urban practicality with styling and equipment suited to riders who prefer a more rugged-looking scooter.

27-Litre Storage and 8.1-Litre Fuel Tank

Practicality is one of the key selling points of the Honda ADV160. It offers 27 litres of underseat storage, providing space for everyday belongings and selected riding equipment.

The scooter also features an 8.1-litre fuel tank and a front-mounted fuel-filling arrangement, allowing refuelling without opening the seat.

A separate front storage compartment includes a 15W USB-C charging port. This provides a convenient location for charging a compatible smartphone while keeping the device separate from the main underseat compartment.

These features could make the ADV160 useful for commuters who carry work essentials, personal belongings or electronic devices during daily travel.

TFT Display and Honda RoadSync Connectivity

The ADV160 features a 12.7 cm (5-inch) colour TFT instrument display. The screen provides riding information and supports customisable display layouts.

Honda RoadSync connectivity enables compatible smartphone functions, including navigation, calls, messages, music and weather information. Availability of individual functions can depend on smartphone compatibility and the connected device's settings.

The scooter also receives Honda Smart Key technology with H-Smart functionality. This supports keyless operation and includes a feature intended to help riders locate their scooter.

Other equipment includes LED lighting, hazard lamps and split pillion grab rails. Together, these features give the ADV160 a more technology-focused package than a basic commuter scooter.

Safety Features: Traction Control and Disc Brakes

Honda has equipped the ADV160 with several safety features. The scooter gets disc brakes at both ends, supported by single-channel ABS on the front wheel.

Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) is also available. The system helps manage rear-wheel traction by controlling engine torque when it detects a difference in wheel speeds that indicates potential wheel slip.

The traction-control system can be switched off when required. Additional equipment includes hazard lamps and a side-stand engine cut-off function.

Although these features add to the scooter's equipment list, buyers should note that the brochure specifies single-channel ABS rather than dual-channel ABS.

Honda ADV160 Price and Delivery Timeline

Honda announced a starting price of ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) in August 2026, when bookings opened across its RedWing and BigWing showroom networks.

The scooter was initially expected to reach customers around October 2026. However, subsequent reporting indicated that deliveries had been pushed back until after the New Year in 2027. Buyers should confirm the latest delivery schedule directly with Honda or an authorised dealership before booking.

Its pricing places it in competition with premium automatic scooters such as the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160. The ADV160's liquid-cooled engine, TFT screen, traction control, generous storage and flex-fuel capability are among its main points of differentiation.

What Details Are Still Missing From the Honda ADV160 Brochure?

Despite the expanded information, several details remain important for prospective buyers.

1. Official mileage figures: Honda has not published a confirmed fuel-efficiency figure for the Indian model. Mileage will be an important consideration for customers comparing running costs.

2. Seat height: The published Indian-market specifications do not list the seat height. This information would help shorter riders assess whether they can comfortably place their feet on the ground while stopped.

3. Suspension details: More information about suspension travel and adjustment would help buyers understand the scooter's comfort and handling characteristics on uneven roads.

4. Real-world E85 efficiency: The scooter's ethanol compatibility is a key feature, but buyers still need verified information about fuel consumption across different ethanol blends and their local availability.

5. Final delivery schedule: With deliveries reportedly delayed, customers should check the latest dates with authorised dealers rather than relying on the original launch timeline.

These missing details do not diminish the importance of the brochure, but they mean that some aspects of ownership and usability cannot yet be assessed fully.

Honda ADV160: Should Buyers Wait for More Details?

The Honda ADV160 offers a distinctive combination of adventure-inspired styling, a liquid-cooled engine, automatic transmission, smartphone connectivity and practical storage. Its E85 flex-fuel capability also sets it apart from many conventional petrol-powered scooters.

However, buyers should consider the final ownership picture before making a decision. Confirmed mileage figures, seat height, delivery availability and the latest official specifications will help determine whether the ADV160 is the right choice for their needs.

For customers comparing it with the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160, a test ride and a comparison of on-road prices, comfort, service support and fuel costs will be particularly useful.
