Renault car has expanded the Triber range in India with a new turbo-petrol powertrain, giving the compact seven-seat MPV a significant performance upgrade. The new Renault Triber Turbo starts at ₹7.85 lakh (ex-showroom) and is offered with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine developing 100 PS and 180 Nm.

The new powertrain is aimed at buyers who like the Triber's flexible seven-seat layout but want stronger performance for city driving, highway trips and fully loaded journeys.

Seven Seats Remain the Main Attraction

The Turbo update does not change the fundamental reason many buyers consider the Triber: its compact seven-seat layout.

The Triber continues to offer a flexible 2+3+2 seating arrangement, while Renault's current model provides removable third-row seats and second-row flexibility. Renault also lists independent rear air-conditioning with vents for the second and third rows on applicable versions.

This gives the Triber a different proposition from conventional five-seat hatchbacks and compact SUVs.

With the third row folded or removed, buyers can also prioritise luggage space when seven seats are not required.

Built on Renault's New RGEP Platform

The new Triber Turbo is Renault India's first vehicle using the company's Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP) in this application.
