BYD cars India introduced a special First Anniversary Edition of the Sealion 7 electric cars SUV in March 2026, celebrating the model's first year in the Indian market. The special edition brings a fresh Tahiti Blue interior theme and limited-period ownership benefits while retaining the existing electric powertrain and equipment package.
The BYD Sealion 7 First Anniversary Edition was launched with prices starting at ₹49.40 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Premium variant. The Performance variant is priced at ₹54.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Unlike a mechanical update, the anniversary edition focuses primarily on cabin appearance and customer benefits.

The most noticeable change in the anniversary edition is its Tahiti Blue interior colour scheme. The lighter cabin theme gives the SUV a different visual character compared with the standard black-and-grey interior.
Apart from this cabin update, the special edition retains the Sealion 7's existing design and feature package. The SUV cars continues to feature a large rotating infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument display, a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade and premium upholstery.
The cabin also includes powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control and a powered tailgate. A 12-speaker Dynaudio audio system and a head-up display add to the technology-focused experience.
The BYD Sealion 7 is powered by an 82.56kWh battery pack. It uses an electric powertrain rather than a petrol-electric hybrid system, so the vehicle requires charging from an external power source.
The Premium variant produces 230kW of power and 380Nm of torque, while the Performance variant delivers 390kW and 690Nm. The Performance version can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in approximately 4.5 seconds, compared with around 6.7 seconds for the Premium variant.
The claimed driving range is up to 567km for the Premium and 542km for the Performance, based on the NEDC test cycle. Actual range will vary with driving style, speed, weather, road conditions and air-conditioning use.
The Sealion 7 also uses BYD's Blade Battery and Cell-to-Body architecture. These technologies integrate the battery into the vehicle's structural design and are intended to support packaging efficiency, body rigidity and battery protection.
The Sealion 7's equipment list includes a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen, a digital driver display, a 360-degree camera, a head-up display and connected-car functions. Depending on the version, buyers also get alloy wheels of up to 20 inches and a range of comfort and convenience features.
Safety equipment includes 11 airbags, Level 2 advanced driver-assistance systems and driver-monitoring technology. The SUV also has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Feature availability can vary by variant, so prospective buyers should verify the exact equipment included in their chosen version.
Alongside the special edition, BYD announced a limited-period offer for the first 1,100 customers. The package included a complimentary 11kW home charger with installation, two years of free service and maintenance, and an extended warranty for the low-voltage battery.
The offer applied to bookings made up to April 30, 2026. As that promotional period has ended, these benefits should not be assumed to be available to new buyers now. Current offers and warranty terms should be confirmed with an authorised BYD dealer.
The Sealion 7 competes in India's premium electric SUV market, appealing to buyers who want strong acceleration, a technology-rich cabin and a long-distance-capable electric vehicle.
Its key alternatives include electric SUVs such as the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5, alongside other premium EVs depending on price and body style. The Sealion 7 differentiates itself through its high-output Performance variant, rotating infotainment display, premium audio system and spacious cabin.
The anniversary edition adds a fresh interior option without changing the vehicle's fundamental performance or battery specifications. Buyers choosing between the Premium and Performance versions should consider whether they value a longer claimed range or stronger acceleration more highly.
