Toll plazas collect toll fees through a cashless electronic system called FASTag. It works using a technology known as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). It is designed to detect the FASTag sticker and identify all its associated information. A FASTag allows automatic deduction of toll-fee at booths. It helps to minimize the traffic and better driving experience on Indian highways. This article tells you about how to recharge FASTag using wallet ID, net banking, and NEFT/RTGS.

What is a FASTag wallet ID?

It is like a customer ID you receive for your bank account or digital payment service account. A wallet ID contains a unique set of 14 digits, creating its identification different from others. 

FASTag Recharge Using Wallet ID

To recharge FASTag first create a FASTag account using wallet ID through letter or email.

FASTag Login 

  • Visit the bank's official FASTag portal online.
  • A personal user can select the retail login option where a corporate user can select the corporate login option.
  • Click on the "first-time user" and enter your "wallet ID" along with details such as customer ID, RFID number, or vehicle registration.
  • Enter the mobile number registered at the time of applying for the FASTag.
  • Select "Generate OTP" to have a code to your registered mobile number.
  • Fill in the OTP to get a code to your registered mobile number.
  • Enter OTP in the box, after authentication you can create your password to access the account in the future.

Once you get your FASTag account it opens various possibilities for monitoring and recharging your FASTag. Log in to the account at any time to verify your highway toll expenses while traveling. You can select different recharging options like net banking, NEFT / RTGS, UPI, etc. They contain wallet IDs and some have vehicle numbers only.

  • Visit the official site of the bank from which you have purchased your FASTag.
  • Log in to your bank account by using your details.
  • Click on the "Net banking" option once you are logged in to the account.
  • You will find the "FASTag option" which is under the payment option.
  • Enter your "wallet ID" of 14 digits and select the payment tab.
  • You will now mention the amount that you want your FASTag account to be recharged.
  • To complete the recharge process make the payment. 
  • If the payment is done successfully, your FASTag account will be recharged by using wallet ID through Net banking.

Recharge FASTag through NEFT / RTGS

  • It is another method of recharging your FASTag by using NEFT / RTGS. 
  • Visit the official website of the bank which has issued your FASTag device.
  • Log in to your bank account by entering your name and password.
  • You have to enter your wallet ID or vehicle number under the section Beneficiary.
  • In the bank fill the IFSC code of your FASTag.
  • Enter the amount to your FASTag account.
  • If the payment is made successfully then your FASTag recharge will be done by using wallet ID through NEFT / RTGS.

Recharge FASTag through Google Pay

  • Open the play store and install Google Pay and add a bank account.
  • Click on the new option.
  • Select suggested business if FASTag is not displayed.
  • Choose FASTag then select to get started.
  • Enter the information of your account and click on the next button.
  • Examine the account details, then select the link account. 
  • After liking the FASTag account, tap your vehicle number or wallet ID.
  • Select the "FASTag account that you want to send money to.
  • Enter the amount and click on "Confirm".

So you may choose any of the methods to recharge FASTag. In case of non- availability of an amount in FASTag you may have a penalty at toll plaza, so you should keep it recharged before passing toll plazas.
