Skoda Auto India has reached a significant milestone in the Indian automotive market, as its popular compact SUV, the Kylaq, has surpassed 50,000 units in production within just over a year of its launch. This landmark achievement underscores the model’s strong acceptance and growing demand among Indian customers.

Since its introduction, the Kylaq has emerged as a key growth driver for the brand, contributing substantially to Skoda Auto’s impressive 36 % year-on-year growth in 2025. The success of the Kylaq has reinforced Skoda’s position in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, where demand continues to rise.

To support this increasing demand, Skoda has expanded production capacity by 30 % at its Chakan plant in Pune, where the Kylaq is manufactured. This strategic capacity enhancement has enabled the company to scale output efficiently, while also strengthening collaboration with domestic suppliers to increase levels of localisation—a step that not only improves cost competitiveness but also aligns with broader industry efforts to deepen manufacturing roots in India.

To stay competitive, Skoda revised Kylaq prices recently, with adjustments of up to Rs. 33,000 on select variants. Following the update, the SUV is priced from Rs. 7.59 lakh to Rs. 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive choice within its segment.
