TATA Car Sales May 2026

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPVL) recorded robust growth in May 2026, supported by strong demand for both its internal combustion engine (ICE) models and electric vehicles (EVs). The company sold a total of 59,790 passenger vehicles during the month, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 42.22% compared to 42,040 units sold in May 2025.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales reached 59,090 units in May 2026, registering a strong 42.19% year-on-year growth compared to 41,557 units in May 2025. The company also witnessed healthy growth in exports, with overseas shipments increasing 44.93% to 700 units, up from 483 units during the same period last year.

Strong Momentum Continues for Tata Motors

Tata Motors continued to post strong momentum in the passenger vehicle market, driven by sustained demand for its SUV range and electric vehicle portfolio. The company reported a 42% increase in wholesale dispatches during the month, while retail registrations, as per VAHAN data, surged by over 50% year-on-year. Backed by this performance, Tata Motors further reinforced its standing as India’s second-largest passenger vehicle manufacturer in terms of retail registrations.
