Mercedes-Benz cars has opened bookings for the new GLC Electric in India, ahead of its market launch on November 4, 2026. The electric SUV will be introduced in the GLC 400 4Matic specification and will be locally assembled at the company's Chakan facility in Pune.
The upcoming model will become an important addition to Mercedes-Benz India's growing electric cars portfolio. The company is bringing the model to India within a relatively short period after its international introduction, while local assembly is expected to help position the SUV competitively in the premium electric SUV segment.
Mercedes-Benz has not yet announced the final India price of the GLC Electric. The SUV cars is expected to be positioned in the Rs 80 lakh to Rs 90 lakh ex-showroom range.
The final price will be announced closer to the launch. Since the GLC Electric will be assembled locally, it will avoid the cost structure associated with a fully imported model.

The GLC 400 4Matic is powered by a 94kWh battery pack paired with two electric motors. The dual-motor configuration provides all-wheel drive and produces a combined 490hp and 800Nm.
Mercedes-Benz claims a 0-100kmph acceleration time of just 4.3 seconds. This gives the GLC Electric strong performance credentials despite its premium SUV dimensions and substantial kerb weight.
The international specification also claims a WLTP range of up to 715km. The final certified range for the India-specification model will be important for buyers once the vehicle officially goes on sale.
Charging performance is another major highlight of the GLC Electric. The SUV supports DC fast charging at up to 330kW.
Under suitable charging conditions, Mercedes-Benz claims that the battery can gain a significant amount of driving range in a short charging session. The international specification also supports charging from 10 to 80 percent in around 22 minutes.
The SUV uses an 800-volt electrical architecture, which enables higher charging speeds and is particularly useful for long-distance journeys.
The GLC Electric gets a design that separates it from the conventional combustion-powered GLC. The front features an illuminated grille with Mercedes-Benz's star-themed lighting elements, while the headlamps feature distinctive LED detailing.
The side profile features flush-fitting door handles, a sloping roofline and alloy wheels measuring up to 21 inches, depending on specification.
At the rear, the SUV receives star-inspired LED tail-lights connected by a horizontal design element. The overall styling combines traditional GLC proportions with Mercedes-Benz's latest electric design language.
The cabin's biggest talking point is the 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen, which stretches across the dashboard and combines the digital driver's display, central infotainment screen and front passenger display.
The system uses the latest generation of Mercedes-Benz's MBUX interface and includes AI-assisted functions. Despite the highly digital cabin, the GLC Electric retains physical controls in key areas, including the steering wheel and centre console.
The SUV will have seating for five occupants, while equipment such as premium audio, ambient lighting, powered and ventilated seats and advanced driver assistance features are available depending on specification.
The GLC Electric also gets advanced chassis technology. International specifications include AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-wheel steering, with the rear wheels capable of turning by up to 4.5 degrees.
Rear-wheel steering can reduce the turning circle at lower speeds while improving stability and manoeuvrability at higher speeds. The SUV also features multiple regenerative braking levels, allowing drivers to adjust how strongly the vehicle recuperates energy while slowing down.
With bookings now open, attention will shift to the official price and final India-specific equipment list. The November 4 launch will confirm how Mercedes-Benz positions the GLC Electric against other premium electric SUVs in the Indian market.
The combination of local assembly, a 94kWh battery, dual-motor all-wheel drive, a claimed range of up to 715km and fast-charging capability makes the GLC Electric one of the more significant upcoming luxury EV launches in India.
Customers interested in the SUV can now register their interest and make bookings ahead of its official launch.
