Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 Spotted Ahead of Launch

The upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 has been spotted at a dealership ahead of its official India launch on September 4, 2026. The showroom sighting gives a closer look at several elements of the new adventure motorcycle, including its instrument cluster, wheels and overall design. Royal Enfield has officially confirmed September 4 as the launch date.

The Himalayan 440 is expected to sit below the Himalayan 450 in Royal Enfield’s adventure motorcycle range. It is being positioned as a simpler and potentially more accessible option for riders who want a rugged ADV motorcycle without moving into the more premium Himalayan 450.

Himalayan 440 Gets Familiar Adventure Design

The motorcycle spotted at the dealership appears to retain several design cues associated with the Himalayan 411. The tall stance, high-mounted handlebar, large front wheel and rugged bodywork give it a clear adventure-touring character.

The biggest visual difference from the Scram 440 is expected to be its wheel and suspension setup. The Himalayan 440 is expected to use a 21-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel, making it more suitable for off-road riding than the Scram 440’s 19/17-inch setup.

New Instrument Cluster with Tripper Navigation

The showroom sighting also reveals a simpler instrument console compared with the earlier Himalayan 411. The Himalayan 440 appears to feature a twin-pod instrument cluster, with an analogue speedometer and digital information display.

A Tripper navigation pod is also visible beside the main instrument unit. It is expected to provide turn-by-turn navigation and connected functions, although final equipment may vary between variants.

The simpler console suggests that Royal Enfield is taking a different approach with the Himalayan 440, focusing on essential adventure-touring equipment rather than the more technology-heavy setup of the Himalayan 450.

Same 440cc Engine as Scram 440

The Himalayan 440 is expected to use the same 443cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in the Scram 440. In the Scram 440, this engine produces around 25.4hp at 6,250rpm and 34Nm at 4,000rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, giving the Himalayan 440 a broader spread of ratios for both highway cruising and off-road riding.

The adventure bike is expected to receive suspension tuning and chassis changes suited to rougher terrain, with longer suspension travel compared with the road-biased Scram 440.

Expected Price and Positioning

Royal Enfield has not yet announced the official price of the Himalayan 440. However, current expectations place its starting price at around ₹2.50 lakh ex-showroom.

This would position the motorcycle between the Scram 440 and Himalayan 450, giving buyers another option in Royal Enfield’s adventure motorcycle line-up.

The final price, variants, colour options and equipment list will be revealed at the official launch.

Launch Date

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 will officially launch in India on September 4, 2026. The launch is expected to provide complete details about its specifications, pricing, variants and features.

With dealership units already appearing ahead of the debut, the Himalayan 440 is now close to reaching customers. Its combination of the 440cc engine, 21-inch front wheel and familiar Himalayan styling could make it an interesting alternative for riders looking for a more accessible adventure motorcycle.
