MG Majestor 2026 Launched in India

JSW MG Motor India has officially introduced the Majestor in the Indian market, with introductory prices beginning at Rs. 40.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Replacing the Gloster, the Majestor will compete against models such as the Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, Jeep Meridian, and Skoda Kodiaq. The SUV comes in four colour choices and is offered in both 4x2 and 4x4 variants.

When it comes to overall road presence, the Majestor delivers a bolder and more striking appearance compared to the Gloster it succeeds. Its large front grille, split LED headlamps, and blacked-out styling elements contribute to a tougher and more commanding look. Measuring more than five metres in length and featuring a 2,950mm wheelbase, it stands as the biggest vehicle in its segment — with proportions that clearly reflect its size.

The Majestor stands out as one of the most feature-rich SUVs available under Rs. 50 lakh, and that is no exaggeration. Inside, it offers dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, along with a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, dual wireless phone chargers, and a 12-speaker JBL surround sound setup. The driver’s seat comes with powered adjustment, memory, and welcome functions, while the front seats are equipped with both ventilation and massage features.

Powering the Majestor is the same 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that delivers 213bhp and 478.5Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. While the mechanical package remains unchanged, the major update lies in its added capability. The SUV now comes equipped with triple differential locks, multiple terrain modes, and revised drive modes, significantly improving its off-road performance compared to the Gloster and making it a stronger contender against more established off-road-oriented rivals.

Savvy 4x4 AT (7-seater only)

Both versions are priced comfortably below the Rs. 50 lakh thresholds, making the Majestor a highly attractive value-for-money offering given the extensive list of features and equipment it provides. This becomes even more evident when compared to rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, which commands similar pricing despite offering less in comparison. MG is also expected to introduce a more affordable Sharp variant at a later stage, which could help the Majestor appeal to an even wider audience within the segment.
