2026 Renault Duster

Renault has officially unveiled the all-new 2026 Duster in India, marking the return of one of the country’s most popular mid-size SUVs. Originally launched in 2012, the Duster helped pioneer the SUV boom in India and has now returned in a completely revamped, third-generation avatar designed specifically for Indian buyers and conditions.

Modern Powertrain Lineup

The India-spec 2026 Duster comes with a diverse set of petrol and hybrid engines to suit a wide range of driving needs:

  • 1.0-litre turbo-petrol: Produces around 100 hp and 160 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
  • 1.3-litre turbo-petrol: Generates approximately 163 hp and 280 Nm, available with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
  • 1.8-litre strong-hybrid: Combines a petrol engine with dual electric motors, offering improved efficiency and electric assist. This hybrid unit is expected to arrive in India by Diwali 2026.

Unlike some global versions, the India model does not include an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option at launch.

Exterior Design: Rugged Yet Distinctive

While the overall silhouette is similar to the global third-generation Duster, Renault India has given the SUV a unique Indian identity:

  • Redesigned headlights with eyebrow-style LED DRLs that also function as indicators.
  • A distinctive grille with a bold Duster badge and a front bumper accented by a protruding silver surround, echoing the first-generation model’s rugged looks.
  • Rugged black cladding, functional black roof rails, and pixel-style fog lamps enhance its SUV character.
  • At the rear, LED taillights are linked by a light bar, a feature exclusive to the India-spec version.

  • A driver-centric dashboard with a free-standing touchscreen and digital instrument cluster.
  • Spacious layouts with a neat center console, ventilated seats, and multiple storage solutions.

Advanced Technology and Safety

  • 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for clear readouts and customizable displays.
  • Panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, and dual-zone climate control.
