Ferrari has unveiled the new 296 GT Modificata, taking the performance potential of the 296 platform to a much more track-oriented level. Developed for Ferrari’s Club Competizioni GT programme, the new model combines a high-output V6 powertrain with extensive aerodynamic and chassis upgrades.
Unlike the road-going Ferrari 296 GTB and 296 GTS, the 296 GT Modificata is designed specifically for circuit use. It brings significant changes to the body, suspension, brakes and aerodynamics to deliver a more focused driving experience on the track.

At the heart of the Ferrari 296 GT Modificata is the brand's 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain. The Modificata is based on the same 296 family that powers the road-going 296 GTB, which produces a combined 830hp and 740Nm in its road specification.
Ferrari has developed the powertrain and control systems specifically for the Modificata's track-focused application. The car uses an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive.
The 296 GT Modificata gets a significantly redesigned exterior compared with the standard 296 GTB. Its bodywork has been developed to increase aerodynamic performance and provide greater stability at high speeds.
Large aerodynamic elements, revised air intakes, a prominent rear wing and a redesigned underbody contribute to the car's track-focused character. The body also makes extensive use of lightweight materials to help reduce mass.

Ferrari has previously developed dedicated track models such as the 296 Challenge, which is also derived from the 296 family but is designed specifically for customer racing.
