Benelli bikes has expanded its adventure-touring motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the new TRK 552, TRK 552X and TRK 552X Limited Edition. The new range brings a larger-capacity engine, updated touring equipment and modern connectivity features aimed at riders who frequently travel long distances.

The road-focused Benelli TRK 552 is priced at ₹7.22 lakh, ex-showroom, India. The more adventure-oriented TRK 552X is priced at ₹7.74 lakh, while the TRK 552X Limited Edition costs ₹7.90 lakh. Bookings have opened through authorised Benelli Keeway dealerships in India.

The new motorcycles build on the touring-oriented approach of the outgoing TRK 502 family, adding a revised powertrain and a more technology-focused package. Here's everything you need to know about the new Benelli TRK 552 range, including its price, engine specifications, features and differences between the variants.

The TRK 552X costs ₹52,000 more than the standard TRK 552. The Limited Edition carries an additional ₹16,000 premium over the regular TRK 552X.

These are ex-showroom prices. The final on-road cost will vary according to the city, registration charges, insurance and applicable taxes.

554cc Parallel-Twin Engine Produces 52 bhp

One of the biggest changes is the engine. The new Benelli TRK 552 range uses a 554cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel-twin petrol engine designed for touring and everyday road use.

The engine produces a claimed 52 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 49 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch.

The parallel-twin configuration is suited to riders looking for a middleweight touring motorcycle with more performance than a typical small-capacity adventure bike. The additional displacement over the older TRK 502's 500cc engine also gives the new range a revised mechanical package.

For highway riders, the six-speed transmission provides a range of gearing for acceleration and cruising. Actual refinement, fuel efficiency and performance will depend on riding conditions, load, road quality and riding style.

5-Inch TFT Display With Navigation

Technology is another key highlight of the new Benelli TRK 552. Both the TRK 552 and TRK 552X receive a 5-inch TFT instrument display with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation-related functions.

The console supports route planning, turn-by-turn directions, offline navigation and trackback functionality. Navigation screen mirroring is also listed among the features, helping riders access route information while touring.

Other equipment includes:

  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

  • Gear-position indicator

  • USB charging

  • Illuminated switchgear

  • Bluetooth connectivity

  • Optional T-BOX connectivity

The TFT display gives the motorcycle a more modern cockpit than a basic instrument cluster. Features such as tyre-pressure monitoring can also be useful during long rides, when riders may cover several hundred kilometres in a day.

Riders should check the exact availability and operating requirements of connected functions with the dealership before purchase.

Heated Grips and Heated Seat for Touring Comfort

Benelli has placed particular emphasis on rider comfort. Both motorcycles come equipped with heated grips and a heated seat, features that can be useful during cold-weather rides and early-morning highway journeys.

The redesigned seats receive additional padding, while an adjustable handlebar allows riders to tailor their riding position. New hand guards provide additional protection against wind and road debris.

A 20-litre fuel tank is fitted to both models. Although actual riding range will depend on fuel consumption and conditions, a large tank can reduce the frequency of fuel stops on longer journeys.

The motorcycles have a listed kerb weight of 235 kg. This is a substantial weight for a middleweight adventure-tourer, so prospective buyers should assess low-speed manoeuvrability, parking and handling when moving the motorcycle by hand.

Suspension and Braking Hardware

The Benelli TRK 552 and TRK 552X use a tubular steel trellis frame paired with an aluminium swingarm.

Suspension duties are handled by a 50mm Marzocchi upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock with adjustable preload. This hardware is intended to balance comfort and control over different road surfaces.

Braking equipment includes twin 320mm floating discs at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear. Bosch dual-channel ABS is standard on both motorcycles.

These specifications provide a useful overview of the hardware, but real-world braking performance and ride quality also depend on tyres, suspension settings, road conditions and maintenance.

Benelli TRK 552 vs TRK 552X: What's Different?

While the standard TRK 552 is primarily designed for paved roads and highway touring, the TRK 552X has a more adventure-focused wheel and tyre configuration.

The standard TRK 552 uses 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels at both ends, paired with Pirelli tyres. The TRK 552X gets cross-spoke wheels, with a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, along with Metzeler tyres.

The larger front wheel and additional ground clearance give the X version a setup better suited to uneven roads and light adventure riding. However, neither configuration should automatically be considered suitable for demanding off-road trails without considering the tyres, weight and riding conditions.

The TRK 552X Limited Edition sits at the top of the new range, with an ex-showroom price of ₹7.90 lakh.

At ₹16,000 above the standard TRK 552X, the Limited Edition provides buyers with an additional variant choice. The launch report lists yellow as its colour option, while the regular TRK 552X is offered in green and white.

Buyers interested in the Limited Edition should confirm its available stock, equipment differences and delivery timeline with an authorised dealership.

The standard Benelli TRK 552 is offered in black and white. The TRK 552X is listed in green and white, while the Limited Edition is available in yellow.

What the New Benelli TRK 552 Means for Adventure-Touring Buyers

The new TRK 552 range brings together a middleweight twin-cylinder engine, a modern TFT display and several comfort-focused features. Heated grips, a heated seat, TPMS and navigation functions make the motorcycle's equipment package particularly relevant to touring riders.

The choice between the TRK 552 and TRK 552X largely depends on how the motorcycle will be used. Riders who primarily travel on highways and paved roads may prefer the standard model's 17-inch alloy wheels and lower seat height. Those who regularly encounter broken roads or want a more adventure-oriented setup may prefer the X version's 19-inch front wheel and greater ground clearance.

The 235 kg listed kerb weight and the 860 mm seat height of the TRK 552X are worth considering, especially for shorter riders or those who frequently manoeuvre the motorcycle in traffic.

Before booking, buyers should compare the ergonomics, weight distribution, suspension comfort and braking feel during a test ride. Ownership costs, service access and the availability of touring accessories are also important considerations in this price segment.
