After breakdown in segments, the mini segment has to see a decline in the sales graph with 6332 units down from 11,519 units in April 2024. In contrast, the compact segment saw sales growth. Such performance shows sustained demand in the market domestically as well as in the international market.
In the domestic market, the company recorded total sales of 142,053 units, comprising 138,704 passenger vehicles and 3,349 light commercial vehicles (Super Carry). Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki supplied 9,827 units to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), a significant rise from 5,481 units in the same month last year. Including OEM sales, the total domestic sales reached 151,880 units—an increase from 145,929 units in April 2024.
The export segment saw robust growth, with 27,911 units shipped internationally—up from 22,160 units during the same period last year.
In the passenger vehicle segment, the mini category (Alto and S-Presso) experienced a sharp decline, with sales falling to 6,332 units from 11,519 units in April 2024. In contrast, the compact segment (including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR) posted growth, reaching 61,591 units compared to 56,953 units last year. Together, the mini and compact segments accounted for 67,923 units —slightly down from 68,472 units in the same period last year.
Sales of the mid-size sedan Ciaz declined to 321 units, down from 867 in April 2024. As a result, the total sales in the passenger car category —which includes mini, compact, and mid-size segments —stood at 68,244 units, slightly lower than the 69,339 units recorded in the same month last year.
