Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has expanded its premium motorcycle range with the launch of the Rebel 300 cruiser in India. The motorcycle is offered in two variants, with the Standard version priced at Rs 2.22 lakh and the E-Clutch variant available at Rs 2.62 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom, Bengaluru.

Bookings for the new cruiser are now open through Honda’s official website and BigWing dealerships. Customers can reserve the motorcycle by paying a booking amount of Rs 5,000, while deliveries are expected to begin from mid-October 2026.

Honda Rebel 300: Engine and Mechanical Details

The Rebel 300 is powered by a 286cc, liquid-cooled engine. Honda has not yet revealed the India-spec motorcycle's exact power and torque figures.

One of the key highlights of the new model is that it will be manufactured locally in India. Local production has allowed Honda to keep the starting price relatively competitive for a premium lifestyle motorcycle.

The Rebel 300 is based around a low-slung, bobber-inspired design. It features a compact fuel tank, exposed frame elements and predominantly blacked-out mechanical components. The low seat height and relaxed riding ergonomics are designed to make the motorcycle approachable for a wider range of riders.

Features and Hardware

Honda has equipped the Rebel 300 with a modern set of features while retaining its classic cruiser character. The motorcycle gets an LED projector headlamp, along with disc brakes at both the front and rear.

Safety equipment includes dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle also features a TFT instrument cluster with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation support.

The combination of traditional bobber styling and contemporary technology gives the Rebel 300 a distinct position in Honda's premium motorcycle portfolio.

Honda Rebel 300 E-Clutch Explained

The more expensive Rebel 300 E-Clutch variant gets Honda's E-Clutch technology, which commands an additional Rs 40,000 over the Standard version.

Unlike a conventional automatic transmission, the E-Clutch system does not eliminate the motorcycle's manual gearbox. Riders continue to use the regular foot-operated gear shifter, while electronic actuators control clutch engagement.

This means riders can start, stop and shift gears without constantly operating the clutch lever. The system is particularly useful in stop-and-go traffic, where frequent clutch operation can become tiring.

At the same time, Honda has retained the physical clutch lever. Riders can therefore take manual control whenever they want, making the system suitable for both newer riders and experienced motorcyclists.

Rebel 300 to Be Sold Through BigWing Dealerships

The Honda Rebel 300 will be sold exclusively through Honda BigWing dealerships, placing it within the company's premium motorcycle retail network.

With its smaller engine, accessible riding position and locally manufactured platform, the Rebel 300 is positioned as a more approachable entry point into Honda's lifestyle motorcycle range.

Honda Rebel 300 Competition

With a starting price of Rs 2.22 lakh, the Rebel 300 enters a price range where it will attract buyers considering popular 350cc motorcycles. Its bobber-style design and cruiser-oriented riding position set it apart from conventional retro roadsters.

The combination of a liquid-cooled engine, modern TFT display, premium styling and the optional E-Clutch system gives the Rebel 300 several points of differentiation.

Honda is clearly targeting riders looking for a premium yet accessible cruiser, while local manufacturing could help the company maintain competitive pricing in India's growing lifestyle motorcycle segment.
