Royal Enfield 350cc Bikes Built After August 2025 to Feature Free Gear Position Indicator

Royal Enfield has started offering the Gear Position Indicator (GPI) free of cost on select 350cc motorcycles manufactured after August 2025. The update is applicable to models including the Classic 350, Meteor 350, Hunter 350, and Goan Classic 350. Eligible motorcycles will receive the feature through Royal Enfield’s authorised service network.

The company had temporarily paused the installation of the Gear Position Indicator due to a shortage of rare-earth materials required for manufacturing the component. With the supply issue now resolved, Royal Enfield has restarted the fitment process for motorcycles produced during the affected period.

Owners can check whether their motorcycle is eligible for the update by verifying the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Customers can also visit their nearest authorised Royal Enfield service centre, where the VIN will be checked and the Gear Position Indicator will be installed free of charge if the motorcycle qualifies.

The Gear Position Indicator shows the currently selected gear on the instrument cluster, helping riders keep track of their gear position more easily. While experienced riders can often judge the gear through riding feel, this feature is especially useful for new riders by making gear changes smoother and more convenient
