23 ADAS Functions Highlighted

One of the biggest highlights of the Hyundai Bayon is its SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS package. Hyundai says the system offers 23 functions designed to assist drivers in identifying potential hazards, maintaining lane position and managing certain driving situations.

Key features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Blind-spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Warning and Safe Exit Warning.

The SUV also offers Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning and Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, High Beam Assist and Highway Driving Assist. Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control is designed to assist with speed management on supported mapped routes.

These technologies use sensors and other vehicle systems to monitor the surroundings and provide warnings or assistance in specific situations. However, their availability and operation can depend on the variant, road conditions and system limitations. ADAS is intended to support the driver, not replace attentive driving.

More Than 35 Standard Safety Features

Hyundai says the Bayon will offer more than 35 standard safety features across all variants, within a broader package of more than 80 advanced safety features.

The standard equipment includes six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist Control, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX child-seat mounts, a rollover sensor and rear parking sensors.

The SUV cars also uses a reinforced body structure designed to help manage crash energy. Hyundai has highlighted hot-stamped rear-floor side members, a ring-type structure and multiple load paths intended to improve structural protection.

These features are relevant to Indian buyers who frequently encounter varied traffic conditions, congested urban roads and highways. However, the manufacturer's stated engineering targets should not be confused with an independently awarded crash-test rating.

Engine and Transmission Details

The India-spec Hyundai Bayon will be powered by a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine producing 115 PS and approximately 144 Nm of torque.

Buyers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual transmission and Hyundai's Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). The announced launch powertrain is petrol-powered; other possible powertrain options should not be considered confirmed unless Hyundai announces them officially.

The SUV also features a technology-focused cabin with dual 12.3-inch displays, an integrated connected-car navigation cockpit, Hyundai Bluelink connectivity and a generative AI voice assistant. Hyundai says the vehicle supports over-the-air updates for up to 19 controllers, along with more than 70 connected features.

Hyundai Bayon India Launch: What to Expect

The Hyundai Bayon is scheduled to launch in India on October 26, 2026. Bookings are open for ₹11,000, while the official price and detailed variant lineup remain to be announced.

Its combination of 10 colour choices, Level 2 ADAS and extensive standard safety equipment could make it a notable addition to Hyundai's SUV range. Buyers will be able to evaluate its overall value once pricing, variant-wise features and delivery details are officially released.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Bayon is set to bring a substantial safety and technology package to India's SUV market. Its 10 exterior colours, 23 ADAS functions and more than 35 standard safety features are among the key details revealed ahead of its scheduled October 26 launch.

The final buying decision will depend on the announced prices, variant-wise equipment and how the SUV compares with competing models. For now, the Bayon's colour variety, petrol engine and extensive driver-assistance technology make it an important upcoming launch to watch.
