Issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas through the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the statement addresses concerns over engine reliability, insurance coverage, water contamination, and viral social media claims that ethanol-blended fuel attracts ants and other insects.

According to the government, no widespread instances of engine failure linked to E20 fuel have been reported since its rollout. The clarification further states that the ethanol used in fuel blending is industrially processed and free of residual sugars, dismissing viral claims that it attracts ants or other insects.
