BMW Motorrad has teased a new 450cc naked streetfighter in India, expanding its recently introduced 450 platform. The upcoming motorcycle is expected to be called the BMW F 450 R, although the company has not officially confirmed the name yet.
The new motorcycle is scheduled to be unveiled on October 1, 2026, and is expected to sit alongside the BMW F 450 GS as a road-focused model in the brand's middleweight range.
The teaser provides an early look at the motorcycle's styling. It appears to feature a muscular fuel tank, sharp tank extensions and a raised rear section, giving it the aggressive appearance expected from a modern streetfighter.
Another visible element is the apparent underbelly exhaust, which could give the motorcycle a cleaner side profile. The bike also appears to use alloy wheels and disc brakes at both ends.

The upcoming streetfighter is expected to use the same 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine currently used in the BMW F 450 GS. In the GS, this engine produces 48 hp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm.
BMW could retune the engine or alter its gearing for the roadster application, with a focus on urban riding and quicker road performance. The final specifications will be confirmed at the official unveiling.
Unlike the F 450 GS, which is designed for both road and off-road use, the new motorcycle will have a street-focused setup. The teaser indicates a USD front fork, while the rear is expected to use a monoshock.
The suspension travel could be shorter than the F 450 GS, allowing BMW to give the new roadster more road-oriented handling characteristics. However, the exact suspension specifications have not yet been announced.
BMW is also expected to equip the new motorcycle with modern electronics. The F 450 GS comes with a 6.5-inch TFT display, riding modes, Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro and other electronic rider aids.
The new streetfighter could receive a similar technology package, although BMW has not yet confirmed the complete equipment list for the upcoming model.
Once launched, the BMW F 450 R is expected to enter the premium middleweight naked-bike segment. Its potential rivals in India could include the Aprilia Tuono 457 and KTM 390 Duke R.
The motorcycle is expected to be positioned below the F 450 GS in BMW's range, although its final pricing will be announced closer to its launch. The current F 450 GS starts at ₹4.95 lakh in India.
