Hyundai Motor India has officially opened bookings for its upcoming Hyundai Bayon SUV in India. Customers can reserve the new SUV by paying a booking amount of ₹11,000 through Hyundai’s official channels and authorised dealerships. The Bayon is scheduled to arrive in the Indian market during the festive season, while its exact launch date and prices are yet to be announced.
The new Bayon will expand Hyundai’s SUV portfolio and will be positioned between the Venue and Creta. Measuring around 4.2 metres in length, the SUV is being introduced as an intelligent utility vehicle with a strong focus on technology, design and safety.
Hyundai has started accepting bookings for the Bayon with a token amount of ₹11,000. Buyers can reserve the upcoming SUV online or through Hyundai dealerships across India.
The company has confirmed that deliveries will begin after the official launch. Variant-wise details, final prices and the complete equipment list are expected to be announced closer to the launch.
The Hyundai Bayon measures approximately 4.2 metres in length and is expected to occupy the space between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai's Indian SUV range.
The exterior gets Hyundai's new H-Edge lighting signature, a sculpted bonnet, geometric wheel arches, wrap-around cladding and bridge-style roof rails. Earlier teasers have also revealed distinctive alloy wheels and a modern lighting layout.
The SUV is designed to offer a more substantial road presence than Hyundai's sub-4m Venue while remaining positioned below the Creta in the company's portfolio.
One of the biggest technology highlights of the India-spec Bayon will be its built-in generative AI voice assistant. Hyundai says the system is intended to provide more natural interaction between occupants and the vehicle.
The company has not yet disclosed the complete list of supported voice commands, languages or connected functions. Other expected technology features include a dual-screen dashboard layout and connected-car functionality, although the final variant-wise equipment list is still awaited.
Hyundai has confirmed that the India-spec Bayon will be offered with a petrol powertrain. Transmission choices will include a manual gearbox and IVT automatic.
The company has not officially announced the final engine specifications yet. Reports indicate that the SUV could use Hyundai's 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, similar to the unit used in the Creta, but this should be treated as expected information until Hyundai confirms the specifications.
The Hyundai Bayon will be based on the Global K Enhanced Platform. Hyundai says the platform has been engineered with Indian five-star safety standards in mind.
However, the Bayon should not currently be described as a five-star Bharat NCAP-rated vehicle, as an official Bharat NCAP crash-test result for the Bayon has not yet been announced. The five-star reference currently relates to Hyundai's engineering and safety target for the platform.
This focus comes as Hyundai continues to strengthen safety across its Indian SUV range. The recently launched all-new Venue and Venue N Line have already secured five-star Bharat NCAP ratings.
Hyundai has confirmed that the Bayon will enter the Indian market during the festive season. The exact launch date, variant line-up, prices and delivery schedule are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The opening of bookings marks the next major step ahead of the SUV's market launch. With its 4.2-metre dimensions, petrol powertrain, IVT option and new-generation technology, the Bayon will add another model to Hyundai's expanding SUV portfolio.
