Triumph Motorcycles has announced prices for the updated 2027 Tiger 1200 range in India, with the flagship adventure motorcycle starting at ₹20.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model receives substantial updates to its engine, chassis, suspension, electronics and rider assistance technology, making it a more advanced option for long-distance touring and adventure riding.
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 will be available in two variants in India: GT Pro and Rally Explorer. The GT Pro is priced at ₹20.99 lakh, while the Rally Explorer costs ₹23.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated motorcycles are scheduled to arrive in India from March 2027.
The latest model continues to use Triumph's 1,160cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine but benefits from revised internal components and updated gearing. It also introduces front and rear radar systems, self-lowering suspension technology and a new 7-inch touchscreen display with wireless smartphone connectivity.

The GT Pro is the more road-focused version, while the Rally Explorer is designed for riders who want a larger fuel tank and additional adventure-oriented equipment.
The price difference reflects their distinct equipment packages. Both variants receive the updated engine, semi-active suspension and new rider assistance technology.
The 2027 Triumph Tiger 1200 continues with a 1,160cc, liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder petrol engine. However, Triumph has revised several engine components to improve performance and low-speed response.
The updated engine produces 158hp at 9,250rpm and 130Nm of torque at 6,750rpm. This represents an increase of 8hp over the previous version, with peak torque arriving lower in the rev range.
The mechanical changes include a redesigned cylinder head, revised pistons and exhaust components, lighter intake and exhaust valves, and more precise fuel injection. Triumph has also revised the gearbox ratios and refined the shaft-drive system.
These changes are intended to improve throttle response, refinement and control at lower speeds. Better low-speed response can be particularly useful when riding a large adventure motorcycle through traffic, navigating tight turns or moving over uneven terrain.
Power is sent through a six-speed gearbox and shaft drive. The shaft-drive arrangement is particularly practical for touring riders because it generally requires less routine maintenance than a conventional chain-drive system.
One of the most significant updates to the 2027 Tiger 1200 is its semi-active suspension system. The motorcycle uses Showa suspension components, including a 49mm upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock, with 200mm of travel at both ends.
The system continuously adjusts suspension damping based on riding conditions and sensor inputs. Automatic preload adjustment helps maintain the suspension setup as conditions change.
The updated motorcycle also features an automatic ride-height function that lowers the seat by approximately 30mm when the bike comes to a stop. The system is designed to help riders reach the ground more comfortably, particularly when manoeuvring the motorcycle at low speeds.
With the optional low seat and the automatic lowering function, the seat height can be reduced to approximately 790mm when stationary.
This feature could be useful for riders who find large adventure motorcycles difficult to handle at a standstill. However, the Tiger 1200 remains a substantial motorcycle, so prospective buyers should consider its weight and ergonomics before making a purchase.
The new Triumph Tiger 1200 receives front and rear Bosch radar systems that support a range of rider assistance features. These systems are among the most notable technology upgrades for the 2027 model.
The available assistance functions include:
Adaptive cruise control: Helps maintain a selected following distance from traffic ahead.
Forward collision warning: Alerts the rider when the system detects a potential collision risk.
Emergency brake assistance: Provides additional support when a potential emergency is detected.
Blind spot assistance: Helps alert the rider to vehicles approaching in adjacent areas.
Rear distance warning: Provides information about traffic approaching from behind.
Group ride assistance: Adds technology intended to support riders travelling together.
The exact operation of each system depends on its design and operating conditions. These features assist the rider but do not replace careful observation, safe following distances or active control of the motorcycle.
The Tiger 1200 also retains electronic riding aids such as cornering ABS and traction control, helping riders manage braking and traction under different road conditions.
The 2027 Tiger 1200 receives styling revisions rather than a complete redesign. Changes to the fuel tank, radiator cowls, front beak and windscreen give the adventure-tourer a refreshed appearance while preserving its recognisable design.
Another important addition is an adaptive LED projector headlight with cornering functionality. The system is designed to improve illumination when the motorcycle leans through bends, helping the rider see the road more clearly during cornering.
Both Indian variants use a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. This differs from earlier Tiger 1200 configurations that offered a 21-inch front wheel on certain versions.
The GT Pro gets cast-aluminium wheels, while the Rally Explorer features tubeless cross-spoke wheels suited to its more adventure-oriented positioning.
The updated Tiger 1200 features a 7-inch high-definition touchscreen instrument display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow compatible smartphones to provide supported navigation, communication and entertainment functions.
Triumph has also included a cooled phone compartment with a USB-C charging port, giving riders a convenient place to store and charge a compatible smartphone during longer journeys.
The motorcycle offers multiple riding modes to adapt its behaviour to different conditions. The GT Pro gets seven riding modes, while the Rally Explorer adds an Off-road Pro mode for a total of eight.
These features make the motorcycle more versatile for touring, urban riding and selected off-road conditions.

The 2027 Tiger 1200 uses twin 320mm front brake discs with Brembo Stylema calipers and a 282mm rear disc. The braking setup is designed to provide strong stopping performance for a large adventure motorcycle.
The semi-active suspension system offers 200mm of travel at both ends and continuously adjusts damping using sensor inputs. This helps balance comfort and control across different riding conditions.
The GT Pro has a kerb weight of approximately 250kg, while the Rally Explorer weighs around 268kg. These figures highlight the importance of considering the motorcycle's size and weight, particularly for riders who plan to use it on challenging trails or manoeuvre it frequently at low speeds.
