Despite Tata’s strong SUV performance, its hatchback portfolio continued to face challenges in May 2026. Combined sales of the Tiago and Tiago EV dropped 34.79% year-on-year to 4,178 units, compared to 6,407 units in May 2025. However, sales momentum could improve in the coming months following Tata’s recent updates to the Tiago range.
The Altroz was one of the few non-SUV offerings to register growth, with sales increasing 4.89% YoY to 2,915 units. The premium hatchback has managed to hold its ground in a highly competitive segment. Meanwhile, the Curvv and Curvv EV recorded sales of 1,680 units, marking a steep 45.15% decline from 3,063 units sold a year earlier. The Safari posted a modest drop of 4.69%, with volumes slipping to 1,057 units, while the Tigor and Tigor EV witnessed the sharpest fall in the lineup, with sales plunging 50.65% to 531 units.
