Audi car has shared fresh technical details of its upcoming A2 e-tron, confirming that the new electric hatchback will become the brand’s entry-level EV when it makes its global debut in autumn 2026. Designed with efficiency as its primary focus, the A2 e-tron is expected to set a new benchmark for energy consumption among Audi’s electric vehicles.
Equipped with the optional Efficiency Package, the A2 e-tron delivers a preliminary WLTP energy consumption of just 12.8 kWh/100 km, making it the most energy-efficient Audi ever built. Instead of relying on a larger battery to increase driving range, Audi has concentrated on reducing overall energy consumption through advanced aerodynamics, a more efficient electric drivetrain, improved battery technology and intelligent thermal management.
Designed for Maximum Efficiency
The A2 e-tron continues the philosophy of the original Audi A2 by combining exceptional efficiency with everyday practicality. It has been engineered to meet the evolving expectations of modern EV buyers, offering a balance of performance, range and low energy consumption.
Powering the hatchback is a 140 kW (190 hp) rear-mounted APP350 permanent magnet synchronous motor, paired with a 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack with 58 kWh of usable capacity. While Audi has yet to announce the official WLTP driving range, the figure is expected to be revealed closer to the vehicle’s global launch.
Aerodynamic Design Improves Efficiency
