Scooters emerged as the fastest-growing segment in Hero MotoCorp’s October 2026 sales performance. The company dispatched 1,04,603 scooters, compared to 65,055 units in October 2025, registering 60.8% year-on-year growth.
The scooter segment contributed around 14.2% to the company’s total October dispatches. The increase of nearly 39,548 units also made a significant contribution to Hero MotoCorp’s overall volume growth.
Motorcycles continued to account for the larger share of sales, with dispatches reaching 6,29,800 units. This was an increase of 10.3% compared to 5,70,753 motorcycles dispatched in October last year.
Hero MotoCorp has identified scooters and 100cc motorcycles as important contributors to the performance of its domestic internal combustion engine (ICE) business.
Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand, VIDA, continued its growth momentum in October 2026. The company reported dispatches of 30,143 units during the month.
VIDA also recorded an 80% year-on-year increase in VAHAN retail registrations. Its share of India's electric two-wheeler market increased to 13.6% in October 2026, compared to 11.1% in October 2025.
This represents a gain of 2.5 percentage points in market share. The figures highlight VIDA’s growing presence in India's electric two-wheeler market.
It is important to distinguish between dispatches and retail registrations: the 30,143 figure represents VIDA dispatches, while the reported 80% growth refers to VAHAN retail registrations.
Hero MotoCorp’s domestic dispatches reached 7,05,084 units in October 2026, compared to 6,04,829 units in the same month last year. This translates into 16.6% year-on-year growth.
On the other hand, exports stood at 29,319 units, declining 5.4% from 30,979 units in October 2025. Despite the monthly decline in exports, the company reported continued retail momentum in international markets, particularly Colombia and Bangladesh.
The domestic ICE business recorded dispatches of 6,75,017 units, up approximately 14% from 5,90,806 units a year earlier.
Hero also reported 5,89,665 VAHAN registrations during October, based on data available as of November 1, 2026, excluding Telangana. These registrations are retail-market figures and should not be directly compared with wholesale dispatch numbers.

Alongside its sales performance, Hero MotoCorp strengthened its premium motorcycle portfolio during October with the launch of the new Xtreme 160R 4V and Xtreme 250R.
The company is also preparing for further product developments across its motorcycle and scooter portfolio. Its upcoming EICMA showcase on November 3, 2026, is expected to bring attention to new products and future mobility plans. However, any anticipated models or concepts should not be treated as confirmed India launches until official details are announced.
Hero MotoCorp’s October 2026 performance reflects strong demand in the domestic two-wheeler market. Total dispatches increased to 7.34 lakh units, with scooters recording nearly 61% growth and VIDA dispatches reaching 30,143 units.
While motorcycle volumes continued to provide the bulk of sales, the rapid expansion of scooter and electric two-wheeler volumes is an important part of the company's growth story. The April–October figures also indicate that Hero MotoCorp has maintained positive momentum through the first seven months of FY2027.
