Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand VIDA has unveiled the UBX electric motorcycle concept at EICMA 2026. The motorcycle has attracted attention for its streetfighter-inspired styling and potential India launch, with reports suggesting a range of more than 150km.

Important clarification: Hero has not officially announced the UBX’s battery capacity, motor specifications or riding range. Therefore, the 150km-plus figure should be treated as an unconfirmed claim rather than an official specification.

Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand VIDA has showcased the UBX at the EICMA 2026 motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The new electric motorcycle concept marks an important step in the company’s plans to expand beyond electric scooters and enter the electric motorcycle segment.

The UBX features an aggressive neo-naked design with supermoto-inspired styling, a wide handlebar, hand guards, LED lighting and a TFT instrument display. While the motorcycle has generated interest because of reports suggesting a range of over 150km, VIDA has not yet confirmed its battery capacity or riding range.

Hero VIDA UBX Battery, Motor and Range: What We Know

The battery and motor specifications are among the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the new electric motorcycle.

Some reports have suggested that the VIDA UBX could offer a riding range of more than 150km on a single charge. However, Hero MotoCorp has not officially confirmed this figure. The company has also not disclosed the battery capacity, motor output, charging time, top speed or claimed range.

Hero VIDA UBX India Launch Timeline

The VIDA UBX is particularly relevant to the Indian market because it represents Hero MotoCorp’s expansion into electric motorcycles.

Hero MotoCorp has previously confirmed that its first electric motorcycle is planned for launch in 2027. The company is developing dedicated electric motorcycle platforms, including UBEX and VXZ, rather than simply adapting its existing electric scooter architecture.

The UBEX platform is intended for a street-naked electric motorcycle, while the VXZ project is being developed in collaboration with US-based Zero Motorcycles.

However, Hero has not announced a confirmed showroom launch date or detailed India launch schedule specifically for the UBX concept unveiled at EICMA 2026. Its production version, final name and market specifications remain to be confirmed.

VIDA UBX, DIRT.E MX7 and Project VXZ: Three New Concepts at EICMA

Alongside the UBX, VIDA also showcased two other electric two-wheeler concepts at EICMA 2026.

1. VIDA DIRT.E MX7

The DIRT.E MX7 is an electric off-road motorcycle concept aimed at adult riders. It features motocross-inspired styling, long-travel suspension, a flat seat, spoked wheels and knobby tyres.

2. Project VXZ

Project VXZ is being developed in collaboration with US-based Zero Motorcycles. It represents a more performance-focused direction for Hero MotoCorp's electric motorcycle programme.

These concepts demonstrate VIDA's ambition to expand its electric mobility portfolio into multiple categories rather than concentrating only on electric scooters.

What the VIDA UBX Means for India's Electric Motorcycle Market

The electric motorcycle segment in India is gradually attracting attention from established two-wheeler manufacturers and EV startups. Until now, much of the electric two-wheeler market's growth has been driven by scooters, particularly models designed for daily commuting.

With the UBX, Hero MotoCorp is signalling its intention to enter the electric motorcycle category with a dedicated platform and a more motorcycle-focused design.

Hero's established two-wheeler presence and experience in the Indian market could help the brand reach a wider customer base if the production motorcycle offers competitive pricing, practical range and accessible charging options.

The final product's success will depend on several factors, including battery performance, real-world riding range, charging convenience, after-sales support and pricing.

Expected Price and Competition

Hero MotoCorp has not announced the official price of the VIDA UBX. Any expected price currently circulating should be treated as speculation until the company releases confirmed information.

If launched in India, the motorcycle could attract buyers looking for a sporty electric two-wheeler for city use. However, its actual market positioning will depend on its final specifications and price.

The production version will need to offer a convincing combination of performance, range, features and ownership costs to compete effectively in India's growing electric two-wheeler market.
