Mahindra cars September 2026 sales: Mahindra & Mahindra recorded strong SUV cars sales in September 2026, with the Scorpio retaining its position as the brand’s best-selling model. The XUV 3XO and Bolero also delivered significant year-on-year growth, while the XUV 7XO and Thar range reported lower sales compared with the same month last year. The XEV 9S continued to contribute to the company’s electric SUV portfolio.
Mahindra sold 64,092 SUVs in the domestic market in September 2026, registering a 14% increase over 56,233 units in September 2025. Sales also increased by approximately 8% compared with August 2026, when the company recorded 59,257 SUVs. The performance highlights continued demand for Mahindra’s established SUVs alongside its growing electric vehicle range.

The Scorpio topped Mahindra’s model-wise sales chart in September 2026, with 17,313 units sold. However, sales declined by 6% compared with the 18,372 units recorded in September last year.
Despite the annual decline, the Scorpio remained a major contributor to Mahindra’s overall SUV volumes. Its popularity in the Indian market is supported by its rugged image, strong road presence and appeal among buyers looking for a substantial SUV.
The Scorpio continues to be an important part of Mahindra’s portfolio, even as the company expands its offerings across compact SUVs, lifestyle vehicles and electric cars models.
The XUV 3XO secured second place in Mahindra’s September 2026 sales rankings, recording 10,823 units. This represents a 20% increase over the 9,032 units sold in September 2025.
The compact SUV also recorded a strong month-on-month improvement, with sales rising from 8,302 units in August 2026. Its combination of multiple powertrain options, modern features and compact dimensions helps it compete in one of India’s most competitive SUV segments.
The XUV 3XO’s performance indicates that Mahindra continues to attract buyers in the compact SUV category.
The Bolero delivered one of the biggest improvements in Mahindra’s September 2026 sales breakup. The model recorded 9,710 units, compared with 2,747 units in September 2025, representing a reported year-on-year increase of 253%.
Its sales also improved over August 2026. The Bolero’s rugged construction and established reputation in smaller cities, rural markets and utility-focused applications continue to support its position in the market.
However, the unusually large annual percentage increase should be viewed alongside the comparatively low base recorded in September 2025.
The XUV 7XO recorded 9,097 units in September 2026, down 7% from 9,764 units in the corresponding month last year. Despite the annual decline, its sales improved over August 2026.
The Thar range recorded 9,008 units, a 24% decline compared with 11,846 units in September 2025. It also registered a month-on-month fall from August.
The figures cover the reported Thar range and do not establish separate sales totals for the three-door Thar OG and Thar Roxx. Both remain important nameplates in Mahindra’s lifestyle SUV portfolio, but a separate model-wise breakdown would be needed to assess their individual performances accurately.
Mahindra’s electric SUV portfolio also contributed to September 2026 volumes. The XEV 9S recorded 4,636 units, up slightly from 4,508 units in August 2026.
The XEV 9e registered 1,975 units, down 25% from 2,619 units in September 2025. The BE 6 recorded 1,517 units, representing an 11% year-on-year decline from 1,701 units.
These results show that the performance of Mahindra’s electric SUVs varied during the month. The XEV 9S recorded the highest volume among the three listed electric models, while the XEV 9e and BE 6 remained below their year-earlier figures.
Mahindra has also announced that its Electric Origin SUV range crossed one lakh cumulative billings since launch, marking an important milestone for its electric vehicle business.
Mahindra’s September performance reflects a combination of strong growth and uneven demand across its SUV lineup. The Scorpio continued to lead in absolute volume, while the XUV 3XO and Bolero recorded substantial annual gains.
At the same time, the XUV 7XO, Thar range, XEV 9e and BE 6 registered year-on-year declines. The XEV 9S added meaningful volume to the electric SUV portfolio.
Looking ahead, the company’s ability to sustain demand across its established SUVs and newer electric models will be important. The coming months should provide a clearer picture of whether the September gains recorded by the XUV 3XO and Bolero can continue.
Overall, Mahindra’s domestic SUV sales grew 14% year-on-year to 64,092 units in September 2026, with the Scorpio remaining its top-selling model and the XUV 3XO and Bolero emerging as key growth contributors.
