BMW India is gearing up for an exciting 2026, building on a strong run of new models in 2025 — including the iX1 LWB, the refreshed 2 Series Gran Coupe and the all-new X3. With a growing luxury vehicle market in India and BMW’s strategy to maintain momentum, the brand is planning to introduce significant updates to its electric vehicle lineup next year.

One of the standout launches scheduled for 2026 is the BMW iX facelift, expected to arrive in India in the second quarter of the year. This updated version of the flagship electric SUV brings a range of enhancements — both in style and performance.
✔ Styling and Design: The facelifted iX will feature refreshed exterior elements, including redesigned headlights, a modern grille, revised bumpers and new alloy wheel designs.
✔ Performance Upgrades: Under the skin, the updated iX family—comprising the iX 45, iX 60 and iX M70—boasts larger battery capacities (up to around 109 kWh) and improved power outputs. Depending on the variant, power figures range from about 402 hp to 659 hp, with torque ranging up to 1,100 Nm on certain trims.
✔ Interior Enhancements: Inside, BMW is introducing a redesigned steering wheel and enhanced M Multi-function seats to improve driver comfort and support.
Estimated price for the facelifted iX in India is around ₹1.5 crore, placing it firmly in the premium EV SUV segment.

Another key launch for 2026 is the BMW i5 LWB (Long Wheelbase) electric sedan — poised to be BMW’s first all-electric sedan assembled in India at the Chennai manufacturing facility.
📌 Launch Timeline: Expected in Q2 2026.
📌 Positioning: The i5 LWB will slot above the existing petrol 530Li but below performance-oriented versions like the i5 M60 in the 5-Series range.
📌 Powertrain: India is likely to get the eDrive40L version with a rear-mounted electric motor producing around 340 hp and 430 Nm of torque, paired with a 97 kWh battery.
📌 Local Adaptations: To suit Indian roads better, BMW is reportedly tweaking the i5’s suspension and increasing ground clearance — a practical move given local driving conditions.
The i5 LWB is expected to be priced around ₹1 crore, offering a spacious and premium EV sedan option in the luxury segment.
