Triumph Bonneville T40, T4: Price in India

The new Bonneville range is priced as follows:

Triumph Bonneville T4 Rs. 2,54,999
Triumph Bonneville T40 Rs. 2,79,999
Triumph Bonneville T40 Black Rs. 2,79,999

The Bonneville T4 is around Rs. 25,000 more affordable than the T40, making it the entry point into Triumph's new Bonneville family in India.

Bookings Open for Rs. 4,999

Triumph has opened online bookings for the Bonneville T40 and T4 in India. Customers can reserve the motorcycles by paying a Rs. 4,999 token amount.

The booking amount is fully refundable according to the booking information available for the motorcycles.

The Bonneville T40 is scheduled to reach customers from November 2026, while deliveries of the Bonneville T4 are expected to begin from January 2027.

New 350cc Bonneville Engine

Both motorcycles are powered by a 349cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine from Triumph's TR Series.

The engine has received a revised cylinder head and a dedicated Bonneville tune aimed at delivering stronger low-speed performance and a more relaxed riding character.

Engine Specifications

Specification Bonneville T40 / T4

Cooling Liquid-cooled
Maximum Power 29 PS
Peak Torque 31.2 Nm
Maximum Torque RPM 5,500 rpm

The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and is designed to provide usable performance for both urban riding and relaxed highway cruising.

Classic Bonneville Styling

The biggest attraction of the T40 and T4 is their styling.

Triumph has retained several traditional Bonneville design elements, including a sculpted teardrop-shaped fuel tank, round headlamp, spoked wheels, twin rear shocks and a classic peashooter-style exhaust.

The motorcycles are designed to look like smaller members of the Bonneville family rather than conventional modern 350cc roadsters.

This gives the new models a distinctly retro appearance while keeping the mechanical package and rider technology contemporary.

Bonneville T40 Gets More Technology

The Bonneville T40 is aimed at buyers who want more features and electronic rider assistance.

It gets a 4-inch circular TFT instrument display with smartphone connectivity and navigation-related functions.

The T40 also benefits from a more advanced electronics package that includes:

  • Five riding modes

  • Cruise control

  • Lean-sensitive cornering ABS

  • Optimised cornering traction control

  • Smartphone connectivity

  • Turn-by-turn navigation

  • LED lighting

  • USB-C charging

  • Self-cancelling indicators

The combination of classic styling and modern electronics makes the T40 the more technology-focused option in the new Bonneville range.

Bonneville T4 Takes a Simpler Approach

The Bonneville T4 follows the same basic design and engine formula but gets a simpler equipment package.

Instead of the T40's TFT setup, the T4 uses a colour LCD instrument console. It still offers useful modern functions such as Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

The T4 also gets:

  • Three riding modes

  • Dual-channel ABS

  • Traction control

  • Full-LED lighting

  • Daytime running light

  • Emergency Deceleration Warning

  • Smartphone connectivity

This approach allows Triumph to keep the essential technology while positioning the T4 at a lower price.

Chassis and Suspension

Triumph has developed a new chassis for the Bonneville T40 and T4.

Both motorcycles use a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers, maintaining the traditional Bonneville appearance while providing a setup suited to everyday road use.

Braking hardware includes a front disc with a twin-piston calliper and ABS.

The motorcycles ride on an 18-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel, with aluminium rims and steel spokes.

Seat Height and Weight

The Bonneville T40 and T4 have been designed with accessible ergonomics in mind.

The standard seat height is 790 mm, while Triumph also offers a low-seat accessory that can reduce the seat height to approximately 770 mm.

The motorcycles have a ready-to-ride weight of around 195 kg.

For shorter riders, the optional low seat could make the motorcycles easier to manage during low-speed manoeuvring and while coming to a stop.

T40 vs T4: What Is the Difference?

The two motorcycles share their basic engine, chassis and Bonneville styling, but their equipment levels are different.

Feature Bonneville T40 Bonneville T4

The T40 therefore targets riders looking for a more feature-rich Bonneville experience, while the T4 focuses on the styling and core riding experience at a more accessible price.

The Bonneville T40 is offered in multiple classic colour combinations, including:

  • Aegean Blue and Fusion White

The T40 Black adds a darker, blacked-out appearance with Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Phantom Black finishes.

  • Carnival Red

  • Competition Green

When Will Deliveries Start?

The delivery timeline differs between the two motorcycles.

The Bonneville T40 is expected to begin reaching dealerships and customers from November 2026, while the Bonneville T4 is scheduled to begin deliveries from January 2027.

Actual delivery timing can vary depending on location, variant, colour and dealership allocation.

Is the Bonneville T40 Worth Considering?

The T40 is likely to appeal to buyers who want the classic Bonneville image without moving into Triumph's larger and more expensive motorcycles.

Its combination of retro styling, 349cc engine, accessible seat height and modern electronics gives it a broader appeal than a purely old-school motorcycle.

The additional technology also makes the T40 more attractive for riders who regularly use their motorcycle for longer rides.

However, buyers primarily looking for value may find the T4 more interesting. It retains the essential Bonneville styling and the same basic engine while eliminating some of the expensive electronic equipment.
