Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce the updated 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in India on October 5, 2026. The luxury sedan will arrive in India a little over six months after its global reveal and will bring a combination of updated styling, new technology, enhanced comfort features and revised electrified powertrains.

The new Maybach S-Class is positioned as the more exclusive and highly personalised version of the flagship S-Class. Mercedes-Benz has given the model several design changes while retaining its long-wheelbase luxury-sedan character.

2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class: Updated Exterior Design

The updated Maybach S-Class gets a revised front-end design featuring a larger illuminated grille with the brand's signature vertical slats. An illuminated Mercedes star on the bonnet and a new illuminated Maybach wordmark further distinguish the luxury sedan.

The car also receives redesigned headlamps with updated Digital Light technology and revised LED tail-lamps featuring the three-pointed-star lighting signature. New 20-inch and 21-inch forged alloy wheel designs will also be available.

The Maybach S-Class continues to be around 180mm longer than the standard long-wheelbase S-Class, providing additional space and a chauffeur-focused cabin experience.

More Technology Inside the Cabin

The biggest changes are not limited to the exterior. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class introduces MB.OS, Mercedes-Benz's latest operating system, to a Maybach model for the first time. It is paired with the fourth-generation MBUX system and a Maybach-specific user interface.

The updated infotainment system also incorporates an AI-powered virtual assistant and supports regular over-the-air software updates. The cabin gets a large Superscreen-style display setup, while Mercedes-Benz has expanded the available materials, colours and personalisation options.

Rear-seat occupants continue to be the primary focus. The rear seats offer heating, ventilation and massage functions, with the backrests capable of reclining up to 43 degrees. Twin rear entertainment screens and individual rear controls are also available.

Powertrain and Performance

The new Maybach S-Class range uses electrified six- and eight-cylinder engines supported by mild-hybrid technology. Mercedes-Benz has also confirmed that a V12 remains available in selected markets.

The S 580 uses an updated 4.0-litre V8 engine producing 537hp and 750Nm. The top-spec S 680 is offered with different powertrains depending on the market. In markets where the V8 is used, it develops 612hp and 850Nm, while the V12 version produces 630hp and 900Nm.

The exact powertrain configuration and variant lineup for India will be confirmed by Mercedes-Benz closer to the Indian launch.

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed October 5 as the Indian launch date for the updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The company is expected to announce the India-specific variant lineup, equipment and pricing at or around the launch.

The Indian price has not yet been confirmed for the updated Maybach S-Class, so an exact ex-showroom figure should not be treated as official before the launch.
