Nissan is preparing to expand its SUV portfolio in India with a new 7-seater SUV, and the upcoming model has now been spotted testing with fresh exterior lighting details. The SUV is expected to be a larger three-row derivative of the Nissan Tekton and is scheduled to arrive in India in 2027.

The latest test vehicle remains heavily camouflaged, but the spy shots reveal important changes at the front and rear compared with the standard five-seat Tekton. Nissan has also confirmed that a new seven-seat SUV is part of its India product plan for 2027.

Nissan Tekton 7-Seater Gets New Lighting Design

The upcoming 7-seater SUV is expected to have a longer body to accommodate the additional third row. The latest test mule shows considerable additional body length behind the rear doors, giving the SUV a more spacious profile than the five-seater Tekton.

At the rear, the new model gets a distinctive boomerang-style LED tail-light signature. This is different from the C-shaped lighting design seen on the five-seat Tekton. A wider LED element also appears to connect the rear lamps, although the final production design remains partially hidden by camouflage.

At the front, the test vehicle appears to retain Nissan's inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights. However, the camouflage hides several details, so the final grille, bumper and other front-end elements could receive further changes.
 

Longer Body and Three-Row Cabin

The biggest change will be the addition of a third row of seats. The extended body is expected to provide seating for up to seven occupants, although the exact amount of space available in the third row will only be confirmed closer to launch.

Nissan is also expected to make changes to the second-row layout and add additional cabin features suited to family buyers. Features such as sliding and reclining second-row seats and improved passenger comfort could be offered, although these details have not yet been officially confirmed.

Expected Engine and Transmission Options

The powertrain details of the 7-seater have not been officially announced. However, reports suggest that Nissan could consider the 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine for the larger SUV, while the smaller 1.0-litre turbo-petrol option may not be offered.

A six-speed manual and six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission could be considered, with a front-wheel-drive layout expected. A hybrid powertrain is also being discussed in reports, but Nissan has not confirmed the final engine lineup for India.

2027 Nissan 7-Seater India Launch

Nissan has confirmed that a new 7-seat SUV will arrive in India in 2027. Recent reports indicate that the three-row model could launch between April and June 2027, although the company has not yet announced an official launch date.
