Honda Cars India reported a positive performance in the domestic passenger vehicle market in October 2026. The company recorded domestic sales of 7,609 units, registering 19% year-on-year growth compared to 6,394 units in October 2025.

The latest sales performance was supported by festive demand and the positive response to the updated Honda Elevate. However, the company's export volumes declined significantly, affecting its overall year-on-year sales performance.

Domestic Sales Increase 70% Month-on-Month

Honda also recorded a substantial improvement in domestic sales compared to September 2026. The company sold 7,609 vehicles in October, up from 4,465 units in September.

This represents month-on-month growth of approximately 70.4%. The improvement reflects stronger festive-season demand and increased customer interest in Honda's updated product range.

Total sales, including exports, increased from 6,955 units in September to 8,082 units in October, representing around 16.2% month-on-month growth.

New Honda Elevate Supports October Sales Growth

The updated Honda Elevate was one of the key highlights of the company's October performance. Honda introduced the new version in India on October 6, 2026, with changes aimed at improving its design, features and overall appeal among SUV cars buyers.

The updated model received a positive response following its launch, according to Honda Cars India. The company also highlighted the contribution of festive demand and positive customer sentiment across its model range.

The Elevate competes in India's midsize SUV segment, where it faces established rivals from several manufacturers. Its updated styling and feature enhancements are intended to strengthen its position in this competitive category.

Honda has not disclosed individual model-wise sales figures for October. Therefore, the exact number of Elevate units sold during the month is not available.

Exports Decline Sharply in October 2026

While domestic sales improved, Honda Cars India's export performance remained under pressure. The company exported 473 vehicles in October 2026, compared to 4,124 units in October 2025.

This represents an 88.5% year-on-year decline. Exports also fell compared to September 2026, when Honda shipped 2,490 vehicles.

The lower export volume was the main reason behind the decline in the company's combined sales. Domestic demand alone was not sufficient to offset the reduction in overseas shipments.

What Is Next for Honda Cars India?

Honda will look to maintain its domestic sales momentum through the festive season and the coming months. The updated Elevate is expected to remain an important part of the company's SUV strategy, while the Amaze and City continue to serve customers in the sedan segment.

Another important upcoming development is Honda's made-in-India electric SUV based on the 0 Alpha concept. The company has scheduled its global debut for December 2, 2026. The model is expected to be relevant to both Indian and international markets, although its eventual sales contribution will depend on its launch timeline, pricing and market response.

Conclusion

Honda Cars India recorded domestic sales growth of 19% in October 2026, reaching 7,609 units. The updated Elevate and festive-season demand supported the improvement, while domestic volumes also increased around 70% compared to September.

However, exports declined sharply to 473 units, pulling total sales down 23.2% year-on-year to 8,082 units. Going forward, the company's ability to sustain domestic demand and improve export volumes will be important for its overall sales performance.
