MG Motor India’s upcoming three-row electric SUV, expected to be called the Hector Tomahawk EV, has been spotted completely undisguised in Pune. The SUV was seen during what appears to be a television commercial shoot at Magarpatta City, offering the clearest look yet at its production-spec exterior ahead of its expected India debut.
The latest sighting comes shortly after MG began releasing teasers of its upcoming electric SUV, which will be the first model in India to use the company’s new ADAPT architecture. While earlier images kept the vehicle’s styling largely hidden, the Pune sighting reveals several important exterior details.
The front-end design follows a clean and upright SUV theme rather than adopting an aggressively futuristic EV appearance. The SUV features a closed-off upper fascia with the MG logo placed prominently at the centre. Slim LED daytime running lights stretch horizontally from the middle, while the primary headlamp units appear to sit vertically towards the outer edges of the bumper.
The lower section gets a wide air intake with horizontal detailing. Overall, the front profile retains a conventional SUV character, which could help the Hector Tomahawk appeal to buyers looking for a practical three-row electric vehicle.
The spotted test vehicle is finished in a light green exterior shade, complemented by black elements around the wheel arches, lower body and roof area. The dual-tone treatment gives the SUV a more rugged appearance.
The side profile highlights the SUV’s substantial dimensions and long wheelbase. The extended rear section is designed to accommodate a third row, while the large glass area around the second and third rows should contribute to better outward visibility and a more spacious cabin experience.
Other visible design elements include conventional door handles, large ORVMs, roof rails and thick black cladding around the wheel arches. The SUV also gets dual-tone alloy wheels featuring a geometric design.
At the rear, only part of the lighting setup is clearly visible. However, the design appears to feature slim horizontal tail lamps extending towards the outer edges, broadly matching the lighting signature previewed in MG’s earlier teasers.
MG has not yet officially confirmed the production name of the SUV. However, the Hector Tomahawk name appears increasingly likely.
MG has reportedly trademarked the Hector Tomahawk name in India, while one of its recent teasers prominently featured a Curtiss P-40 Tomahawk fighter aircraft alongside the upcoming SUV. These details suggest that the Tomahawk name could be used for MG’s next major electric SUV.

The upcoming SUV is expected to be closely related to the globally available Wuling Starlight 560, although the India-spec version is likely to receive market-specific changes.
More importantly, it will be the first production model in India to use MG’s ADAPT architecture. The modular platform has been designed to support multiple electrified powertrain configurations, including battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, strong-hybrid and range-extender systems.
For its initial application in India, MG has confirmed that the upcoming SUV will be offered as a pure electric vehicle.
While MG has yet to reveal the final technical specifications, reports suggest that the Hector Tomahawk EV could feature a 69.2 kWh LFP battery pack paired with a front-mounted electric motor.
The expected powertrain could develop around 204 PS and 310 Nm, while the claimed driving range may be close to 530 km on the CLTC cycle. However, India-spec figures, including the certified range, battery specifications and performance numbers, could differ from these estimates.
Considering the flexibility of the ADAPT platform, MG could also introduce other electrified versions of the SUV at a later stage.
Once launched, the Hector Tomahawk EV will enter the growing three-row electric SUV segment in India. It is expected to compete with upcoming models such as the Mahindra XEV 9S, positioning MG in an increasingly competitive part of the electric SUV market.
With a production-spec vehicle now appearing completely undisguised during a TVC shoot, MG appears to be moving closer to the SUV’s official unveiling. More details regarding its name, specifications, pricing and launch timeline are expected to emerge soon.
