Skoda Slavia Facelift – August 18
The 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift is one of the month's most important launches. Skoda has already released the first teaser of the updated sedan and confirmed its India launch for August 18.
The facelift is expected to receive revised exterior styling, updated lighting elements and additional cabin technology while retaining the basic design and powertrain lineup of the current Slavia.
The updated sedan will continue to compete with cars such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
BMW is also preparing to introduce the X1 Long Wheelbase in India on August 21. The extended version will offer more cabin space than the standard X1 and will be locally produced for the Indian market.
BMW has already opened pre-bookings, with prices scheduled to be announced on the launch date.
The X1 LWB is expected to strengthen BMW's position in India's premium SUV segment by offering additional rear-seat space.
JSW MG Motor India has confirmed the arrival of its new seven-seat electric SUV on August 26. Pre-bookings for the vehicle have already opened.
The upcoming SUV will be based on the company's new ADAPT platform and will initially be offered as a fully electric model. Its design is expected to stand out from MG's existing SUVs, while the three-row cabin will make it a practical option for larger families.
The model is also being referred to as the MG Hector Hawk in current reports.
Mahindra is expected to have a busy August, with several products and updates linked to the month.
The Global Pik Up, based on the Scorpio-N family, is one of the major products attracting attention. The pickup has been teased ahead of its global debut and is designed to compete with lifestyle pickups such as the Toyota Hilux.
The Scorpio N facelift and Thar facelift are also being listed among August's expected launches, although their exact launch timing should be treated as tentative until Mahindra provides official confirmation. Current launch trackers list both models for August.
The Honda Elevate EV and Mahindra Thar E have appeared on current upcoming-car lists with August 15 as their expected launch date. However, because these dates are not supported by the same level of official confirmation as the Slavia, X1 LWB and MG seven-seater, Wheels42 should label them as expected, not confirmed.
The Elevate EV would give Honda an entry into the growing electric SUV market, while the Thar E is expected to bring the Thar nameplate into the electric vehicle segment.
With new electric SUVs, premium models, a facelifted sedan and possible Mahindra updates, August 2026 could be one of the more active months of the year for the Indian automobile industry.
For buyers, the Skoda Slavia facelift, BMW X1 LWB and MG's new seven-seat EV are among the most important confirmed launches to watch. Meanwhile, several other models remain dependent on final confirmation from their respective manufacturers.
Wheels42 will continue to track their launch dates, prices, specifications and availability as manufacturers reveal more information.
