Toyota Kirloskar Motor has officially started handing over the keys to the new-generation Hilux in India. Among the first customers to receive the updated lifestyle pickup is celebrated boxer and Olympic medallist M. C. Mary Kom, who took delivery from a Toyota dealership in the Delhi-NCR region.
The first deliveries have commenced around the Independence Day period, underlining the Hilux’s image as a vehicle designed for both adventure and everyday driving. Toyota has positioned its association with Mary Kom around shared qualities such as determination, toughness and resilience.
The latest Hilux was introduced in India on 28 July 2026 and has reportedly attracted considerable interest from customers. Toyota, however, has not revealed the exact number of bookings or deliveries recorded so far.
The arrival of the first customer vehicles marks an important step for the updated pickup as Toyota looks to strengthen its position in India's growing lifestyle vehicle market.
The new Hilux represents one of the most significant updates for Toyota's global pickup range. The latest generation follows the brand's “Tough & Agile” design philosophy, giving the vehicle a more upright and commanding appearance.
Key exterior changes include a redesigned front fascia, a larger grille featuring prominent TOYOTA lettering, slimmer LED headlamps, revised bumpers and newly styled LED rear lamps.
The overall design retains the Hilux's rugged identity while giving it a more contemporary road presence.
In India, Toyota has priced the latest Hilux between ₹31.99 lakh and ₹36.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The pickup is available in three variants:
The updated model also gains a wider range of equipment, including Multi Terrain Select (MTS), Downhill Assist Control (DAC), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), dual-zone climate control and seven airbags.
With customer deliveries now underway, the latest Hilux continues to compete with the Isuzu V-Cross in India's premium lifestyle pickup category.
The segment is also expected to become more competitive with the arrival of Mahindra's upcoming Scorpio-based lifestyle pickup, which is positioned to bring another strong Indian contender into this space.
With a fresh design, additional technology and Toyota's established reputation for durability, the new Hilux is set to play a key role in the company's premium pickup strategy in India.
