The updated version has been developed with inputs from customers and automotive media, with a particular focus on improving cabin ergonomics and making the interior more technology-oriented.

The BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition has also been brought under the new Sporteq family as part of Mahindra's updated product strategy.

Exterior Design Remains Familiar

Unlike the cabin, the exterior of the BE 6 Sporteq remains largely unchanged from the standard BE 6. The Launch Edition introduces the new Graphite Stone matte finish, which accentuates the SUV's sharp body lines and aerodynamic elements.

The existing design continues with its distinctive C-shaped LED daytime-running lights, slim headlamps, LED fog lamps, C-shaped rear lighting, flush-fitting door handles, illuminated BE branding, prominent spoilers and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Major Interior Transformation

The most important update comes inside the cabin.

Mahindra has redesigned the dashboard and replaced the earlier dual-screen arrangement with a triple-screen setup, featuring three 12.3-inch displays. The system is powered by a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon platform and uses Mahindra's MAIA software-defined architecture with the Adrenox interface.

Another major change is the removal of the halo loop, which previously created a physical divide between the driver and front passenger. Its deletion opens up the centre area and allows Mahindra to introduce additional storage, including a cupholder.

The cabin is finished in a new Black and Tan theme, giving the interior a brighter and more spacious appearance. The Launch Edition also receives a dedicated identification plaque.

Existing equipment such as dual cooled wireless charging pads, push-button start, a key slot, aircraft-inspired centre-console elements, roof-mounted controls, an illuminated steering-wheel logo and a rotary infotainment controller continue to be part of the package.

Six New TEQ Technology Features

Mahindra has also introduced six technology suites under the TEQ branding.

TEQ_Me provides automatic user recognition and can adjust settings such as the driver's seat, ORVMs and drive modes.

TEQ_Drive adds personalised driving functions, including custom drive modes, Tribe Drive, Revive with a reserve range function, Revive SOS, Drift Mode and an acceleration boost.

TEQ_Play introduces console-style gaming and Karaoke functionality, supported by Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

TEQ_Talk integrates Google Gemini for voice-based interaction, allowing occupants to control vehicle functions while accessing navigation, music, news and other information.

TEQ_Secure incorporates Secure360 Pro, allowing users to communicate with people around the vehicle, alongside NFC access, a digital key and parental controls through the third display.

TEQ_Xting adds personalised animated messages that can be displayed at the rear of the vehicle.

Two Battery Options Available

The BE 6 Sporteq continues with Mahindra's 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs.

The larger 79 kWh unit offers a claimed range of up to 683 km on a full charge, while Mahindra states that real-world driving with the air conditioner in use can deliver more than 500 km.

Power continues to come from a single rear-mounted electric motor, producing up to 286 bhp and 380 Nm.

Formula E Freedom Edition Gets Updated

Mahindra has also refreshed the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition and positioned it within the Sporteq family.

The latest version adopts the standard BE 6's exterior lighting design, including the large C-shaped DRLs, horizontal headlamps and full-size C-shaped rear lamps. The previous circular projector-style setup has been discontinued.

The new edition does away with the earlier body graphics and instead uses Formula E branding on the fenders, along with Indian tricolour-inspired detailing.

Inside, the Firestorm Orange theme remains a key visual element, appearing across the door straps, steering wheel, dashboard and centre console. Formula E and FIA badges, special animations and a dedicated Freedom Edition plaque further distinguish the cabin.

The halo loop, however, remains exclusive to the Formula E Freedom Edition.

Same 79 kWh Powertrain for Formula E Edition

The 2026 Formula E Freedom Edition continues with the 79 kWh battery and rear-wheel-drive electric motor.

It produces 286 bhp and 380 Nm, with a claimed range of up to 683 km. Mahindra also quotes a real-world range of more than 500 km with the air conditioner running.

With its revised interior, expanded technology suite, flexible ownership model and updated Formula E variant, the BE 6 Sporteq represents a significant evolution of Mahindra's electric SUV offering while retaining the distinctive design and rear-wheel-drive character of the BE 6.
