Skoda Kylaq Sportline Launched at ₹11.32 Lakh: New Variant Targets Festive-Season Sales Growth

Skoda Auto India has expanded its popular Kylaq compact SUV range with the introduction of the new Sportline variant. Positioned between the Signature+ and Prestige trims, the Kylaq Sportline is priced at ₹11.32 lakh for the 6-speed manual and ₹12.32 lakh for the 6-speed automatic (ex-showroom).

The new variant brings a sportier visual identity and additional equipment to the Kylaq lineup. At the same time, Skoda has upgraded the feature list of select lower variants, making the overall range more competitive ahead of the upcoming festive season.

Skoda Kylaq Sportline: Price and Positioning

With the addition of the Sportline, the Skoda Kylaq range now comprises seven variants: Classic, Classic+, Signature, Signature+, Sportline, Prestige and Prestige+.

The entire lineup continues to use the 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The Sportline is positioned ₹55,000 above the Signature+ variant and ₹43,000 below the Prestige trim, creating another option in the ₹11-12 lakh price bracket.

This positioning allows Skoda to offer a more premium-looking Kylaq without requiring buyers to stretch their budget to the higher Prestige variants.

Skoda Kylaq Sportline Gets a Sportier Design

The biggest changes on the Sportline variant are focused on its exterior and interior styling. The SUV gets several blacked-out elements that give it a more aggressive appearance.

Exterior highlights include Deep Black ORVMs, glossy black front and rear diffusers, a dual-tone floating black roof, 17-inch black alloy wheels and black Skoda lettering at the rear. The variant also features Sportline badging, a rear spoiler with finlets and a Sportline graphic on the C-pillar.

Inside, Skoda has carried forward the darker theme with black treatment for the dashboard, door trims and roof liner. The leatherette seats feature Sportline branding and contrast stitching, while aluminium pedals further enhance the sporty character.

Feature List of the Kylaq Sportline

The new variant comes equipped with a range of convenience and technology features, including:

  • LED projector headlamps
  • Electric sunroof
  • Ambient lighting
  • Wireless smartphone charging
  • Climatronic automatic air conditioning
  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • 8-inch Virtual Cockpit

Skoda is also offering an optional Sportline accessories pack. It includes a front bumper corner garnish, dark chrome grille garnish, fender garnish and glossy black body-side moulding for buyers looking to further customise the SUV.

Lower Kylaq Variants Also Get Feature Updates

Skoda's latest update is not restricted to the new Sportline trim. The company has also added features to the more affordable Classic and Classic+ variants.

Both trims now receive Climatronic automatic AC and a rear defogger, improving their overall equipment levels.

Safety remains a key focus across the range. All Kylaq variants continue to come with six airbags as standard, while the SUV has also secured a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.

The Kylaq is powered by the familiar 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, with transmission options including a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter automatic, depending on the variant.

Kylaq Remains Skoda India's Key Volume Driver

The launch of the Sportline comes at an important stage for Skoda in India, as the Kylaq has established itself as the company's biggest volume contributor.

In July 2026, Skoda sold 5,709 cars in India, with the Kylaq accounting for 3,727 units, or roughly 65% of the company's total domestic sales.

Kylaq sales increased 10.36% year-on-year from 3,377 units in July 2025. However, sales declined 7.72% compared with June 2026, when the SUV recorded 4,039 units.

Between January and July 2026, Skoda sold 27,720 units of the Kylaq, compared with 27,091 units during the same period last year. This represents an increase of just 629 units, or 2.32% year-on-year.

The monthly figures show that Kylaq sales have largely remained within the 3,000-4,500-unit range, suggesting that the SUV's initial momentum has started to stabilise.

Sportline Could Help Skoda During the Festive Season

Skoda's other models contributed significantly lower volumes in July. The Slavia recorded 993 units, while the Kushaq registered 833 units and the Kodiaq managed 156 units. The Kylaq alone outsold these three models combined.

This makes the Sportline launch strategically important for Skoda India. Instead of introducing mechanical changes, the company has focused on sportier styling, additional features and strategic pricing to attract a wider range of buyers.

With the festive season approaching and competition intensifying in India's sub-4m SUV segment, the new Kylaq Sportline could give Skoda another opportunity to generate fresh customer interest and strengthen sales momentum
