Kia India September 2026 Sales: Kia India has recorded its highest-ever monthly sales since entering the Indian market, dispatching 32,017 units in September 2026. The figure represents a 41.04% year-on-year increase over the 22,700 units sold in September 2025. The company also registered a sequential improvement of more than 10% over its August 2026 wholesale volume of 29,042 units.

The strong September performance highlights continued demand for Kia's SUV-focused portfolio, with the Seltos and Sonet remaining important contributors. Kia's expanding range, which now includes petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric powertrains, has also broadened the brand's coverage across different customer segments.

Seltos Continues to Be a Major Sales Driver

The Kia Seltos remains one of the most important models in the company's Indian portfolio. Kia said the latest-generation Seltos has averaged more than 10,000 units per month since its launch in January 2026.

The mid-size SUV competes in one of India's most competitive vehicle segments and is available with multiple powertrain and transmission combinations. Its continued contribution has helped Kia strengthen its presence in the mid-size SUV market.

The Seltos has also played a major role in changing Kia's sales mix during 2026. The updated model has helped the company attract customers looking for a feature-rich SUV while retaining a range of conventional powertrain choices.

Sonet Provides Strong Volume Support

The Kia Sonet continues to be another important volume contributor for the company. Positioned in the sub-compact SUV segment, the Sonet gives Kia access to a wider customer base and complements the larger Seltos.

The combination of Seltos and Sonet gives Kia a strong presence across two high-volume SUV categories. The company has identified both models as key contributors to its September performance.

Sorento Expands Kia's Premium SUV Portfolio

The newly introduced Kia Sorento has also added a new dimension to the company's Indian portfolio. Positioned above the Seltos, the premium SUV is aimed at customers seeking a larger vehicle with a more premium package.

Kia says the Sorento has received an encouraging response following its introduction. It is available with diesel and hybrid powertrain options, giving the company another way to address the growing interest in electrified and more efficient powertrains.

While the Sorento is not expected to match the volumes of the Seltos or Sonet, its presence allows Kia to compete in a higher segment and diversify its product portfolio.

Syros EV Adds to Kia's Electric Vehicle Push

Kia is also expanding its electric vehicle portfolio through the Syros EV. The electric version of the Syros has started contributing to the company's EV volumes and gives Kia a product positioned for a broader customer base than its earlier premium EV offerings.

The company already offers models such as the Carens Clavis EV, while the wider portfolio includes multiple petrol, diesel and CNG options. This gives Kia exposure to several different powertrain categories as the Indian automotive market continues to evolve.

Kia's Q3 and Nine-Month Performance

Kia's strong September performance also lifted its quarterly and year-to-date numbers. During July-September 2026, the company sold 89,259 units, compared with 64,443 units in Q3 2025. This represents a 38.51% increase.

For the January-September period, Kia's cumulative sales reached 2,53,008 units, compared with 2,06,582 units during the corresponding period of 2025. That translates into a 22.47% year-on-year increase.

The September milestone therefore comes as part of a broader improvement in Kia India's sales performance rather than an isolated monthly increase.

What It Means for Kia India

Kia's record September sales underline the importance of its SUV portfolio in the Indian market. The Seltos and Sonet continue to provide substantial volumes, while newer products such as the Sorento and Syros EV are helping the company expand into additional segments and powertrain categories.

With 32,017 units dispatched in September, Kia has achieved its strongest monthly wholesale performance since entering India. The company's next challenge will be to maintain this momentum as the market moves through the final quarter of 2026.
