Triumph Motorcycles has expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the new Bonneville T40, bringing the iconic Bonneville design philosophy to a more accessible motorcycle. The new model has been launched at ₹2.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), effectively ₹2.80 lakh when rounded off.
Alongside the T40, Triumph has also introduced the Bonneville T40 Black, while the more affordable Bonneville T4 joins the range at ₹2.55 lakh. The new motorcycles combine traditional styling with a modern 350cc engine and a comprehensive electronics package.

The biggest attraction of the Bonneville T40 is its styling. Triumph has retained the traditional Bonneville silhouette, including a sculpted teardrop fuel tank, round LED headlamp, spoke wheels, twin rear shock absorbers and long mudguards.
The motorcycle also gets a brushed peashooter-style exhaust, aluminium engine covers and traditional tank detailing. Selected colour combinations feature hand-painted coach lining, giving the T40 a distinctly premium modern-classic appearance.
The T40 is offered in three colour combinations:
The T40 Black takes a darker approach with Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Phantom Black finishes, along with blacked-out components and gloss-black aluminium rims.
The Triumph Bonneville T40 is powered by a 349cc/350cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder TR Series engine. In Bonneville specification, the engine produces approximately 29 PS at 7,000 rpm and 31.2 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm.
The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and gets a slip-and-assist clutch. Triumph has tuned the engine to deliver a relaxed and torque-focused character rather than chasing outright performance.

Despite its classic appearance, the T40 gets a surprisingly extensive technology package.
The motorcycle features a 4-inch circular colour TFT instrument cluster. It also gets a Heritage Mode that gives the display a more traditional analogue-inspired appearance.
Smartphone connectivity, music and call controls and full-map navigation are available through Triumph's connected technology package. Routes can also be planned and imported using GPX files.
The Bonneville T40 also gets multiple riding modes to suit different conditions.
The motorcycle offers Road, Rain and Eco modes, along with two configurable riding modes. This allows riders to alter the motorcycle's electronic response according to their preferences and riding environment.
The T40 goes beyond basic rider assistance equipment. It gets cruise control, lean-sensitive cornering ABS and cornering traction control.
This gives the motorcycle a more sophisticated electronic package than its classic appearance might suggest. A USB-C charging facility is also available for charging compatible devices while riding.
The Bonneville T40 uses a traditional chassis setup designed to maintain its modern-classic character.
At the front, the motorcycle gets conventional forks, while the rear uses twin shock absorbers with preload adjustment. The setup provides around 130mm of wheel travel.
Braking hardware includes a 310mm front disc and 255mm rear disc, with the motorcycle equipped with dual-channel ABS and cornering ABS.
The T40 uses traditional wire-spoke wheels with an 18-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel. The combination of aluminium rims and steel spokes helps maintain the classic Bonneville appearance.
The motorcycle has a 790mm seat height, while an optional low seat can reduce the height to approximately 770mm. Its ready-to-ride weight is around 195kg.
Triumph has positioned the T4 as the more affordable alternative to the T40.
The T4 uses the same basic 350cc engine and chassis but gets a simpler electronics package. It uses a colour LCD instead of the T40's TFT and offers turn-by-turn navigation rather than full-map navigation.
The T4 also misses out on some of the T40's premium equipment, including cruise control and lean-sensitive electronic rider aids.
Bookings for the new Bonneville models are scheduled to open from October 7, 2026, while deliveries of the T40 and T40 Black are expected to begin from the second week of November 2026.
The more affordable T4 will arrive later, with deliveries expected from January 2027.
