MG Motor India continues to offer the Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm special editions in the Indian market. Positioned as more distinctive versions of the Hector, both editions focus mainly on exterior and interior styling changes while retaining the SUV's existing mechanical package.
The latest pricing puts the Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm at around ₹20.72 lakh for the five-seater petrol-CVT version, while diesel versions are priced higher. The special editions are also available in different seating configurations under the Hector Plus range.
It is worth noting that these are special editions rather than newly launched SUV cars. The Hector Blackstorm was introduced in India in 2024, followed by the Snowstorm later that year.
According to the latest pricing information, the Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm are available with the following powertrain combinations:
| Variant | Petrol CVT | Diesel MT |
|---|---|---|
| Hector Blackstorm | ₹20.72 lakh | ₹21.42 lakh |
| Hector Snowstorm | ₹20.72 lakh | ₹21.42 lakh |
What Is Special About the Hector Blackstorm?
The MG Hector Blackstorm is designed around an aggressive black-themed appearance.
The SUV gets a Starry Black exterior with dark chrome elements across the grille, badges, side cladding and tailgate. It also features R18 all-black alloy wheels with red brake calipers, black roof rails and smoked tail lamps.
The darker treatment gives the Hector a more premium and sportier appearance compared with the standard SUV.
Inside, the Blackstorm follows the same theme with an all-black cabin and gun-metal accents.
The Hector Snowstorm takes a different approach.
Instead of the all-black theme, it combines a white and black exterior with dark chrome detailing. The grille, bumper elements, side moulding and tailgate garnish receive darker finishes, while the roof and other exterior components add contrast.
The interior follows a predominantly black theme with gun-metal detailing, creating a premium contrast with the lighter exterior.
The Snowstorm edition is available across the Hector's five-, six- and seven-seat configurations depending on the powertrain and variant.
Both special editions retain the Hector's technology-focused cabin.
A major highlight is the 35.56 cm (14-inch) HD touchscreen infotainment system, which is one of the largest displays in the segment.
The SUV also gets connected-car technology, wireless smartphone connectivity and a wireless phone charger. MG's i-SMART system provides a range of connected features and voice-based controls.
The Hector's equipment list includes several features aimed at improving comfort and convenience.
Depending on the version, buyers can get:
The Hector Plus Blackstorm, for example, continues to offer features such as a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats and connected technology.
The Hector Blackstorm and Snowstorm continue with the same engine options as the regular Hector.
The petrol version uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission in these special editions.
The diesel version uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
There are therefore no major mechanical changes associated with the Blackstorm or Snowstorm editions.

The Blackstorm and Snowstorm editions are primarily aimed at buyers who want their Hector to stand out from the standard version.
The Blackstorm is better suited to buyers who prefer an aggressive, darker appearance, while the Snowstorm offers a more contrasting white-and-black design.
Since the mechanical package remains largely unchanged, the main reason to choose either edition is the exclusive styling and additional visual appeal, rather than a performance upgrade.
