Skoda states that the Skoda Epiq has been developed to make electric mobility more accessible without notably raising ownership costs compared to similar ICE-powered SUVs. In the UK, the Epiq is priced from £24,950 (around Rs 32.34 lakh), placing it close to the price range of the Skoda Kamiq.

The Epiq measures 4,171 mm in length, 1,798 mm in width, and 1,581 mm in height, and it showcases Skoda’s latest Modern Solid design philosophy.

The SUV features a glossy black closed-off Tech-Deck Face, sleek T-shaped LED DRLs and tail lamps, muscular SUV-inspired styling, and aerodynamically designed wheels. The Skoda Epiq achieves a drag coefficient of 0.275, thanks to elements such as active cooling shutters, aerodynamic wheel covers, optimized underbody panels, and a carefully designed rear spoiler.

Despite its compact size, Skoda Epiq is claimed by Skoda to deliver impressive practicality. The electric SUV comes with a 475-litre boot, along with an extra 25-litre frunk under the bonnet that can be used to store charging cables and other small items. Inside, the cabin offers seating space for up to five passengers.

Inside, the dashboard of the Skoda Epiq follows a minimalist design philosophy, prioritising ease of use over excessive digitalisation. The SUV is equipped with a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 5-inch digital driver display. Skoda has also retained physical buttons and haptic rotary controls for important functions.

Key features include wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging with a cooling function, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, and connected car technology integrated through the MySkoda app.

The interior of the Skoda Epiq also incorporates recycled and animal-free materials. According to Skoda, the vehicle uses more than 34 kg of recycled materials.

The SUV also continues to offer several “Simply Clever” features, such as an umbrella holder, a dedicated charging cable storage bag, bag hooks, and smart cupholders.

Battery Options, Range & Charging Details

Entry-level versions of the Skoda Epiq are powered by a 37 kWh LFP battery pack combined with a 133 bhp electric motor, delivering a claimed driving range of around 190 miles (305 km). Higher-spec variants feature a larger 52 kWh NMC battery paired with a more powerful 208 bhp motor, offering a maximum claimed range of up to 272 miles (approximately 425 km).

The Epiq is built on the Volkswagen Group MEB+ platform, which will also underpin upcoming compact EVs from Volkswagen and Cupra. Globally, the SUV will be available with multiple battery pack options.

Electric Cars in India

The Skoda Epiq supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 105 kW, enabling the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 25 minutes. All variants also come with support for 11 kW AC charging.

One of the key highlights is the inclusion of bidirectional charging technology, which allows the vehicle to supply power externally or even feed electricity back to homes where compatible infrastructure is available.

The Skoda Epiq also features one-pedal driving capability along with adjustable regenerative braking modes. Safety features include seven airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane assist, traffic sign recognition, side assist, and rear traffic alert.

Higher-spec variants further benefit from advanced parking assist and Drive Assist technologies.

Skoda says Epiq has been tuned to prioritize comfort and ease of use in urban conditions. The SUV is front-wheel-drive and designed to offer familiar driving characteristics for customers transitioning from petrol-powered compact SUVs. With its practical packaging, compact dimensions and relatively accessible pricing, Epiq is expected to play a key role in Skoda’s future EV expansion plans globally.
