Mahindra & Mahindra cars is preparing a major product offensive for the Indian automobile market, with five new vehicle launches planned by June 2027. The upcoming portfolio will include four SUVs and one light commercial vehicle (LCV), covering petrol and diesel vehicles, electric mobility and lifestyle-oriented pickups.
The announcement was made by Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO of Mahindra’s Auto and Farm Sectors, during the company's Q2 FY27 media interaction. The new launches are expected to strengthen Mahindra's presence in India's competitive SUV cars market while expanding its electric vehicle and commercial vehicle portfolios.
The upcoming products will include an SUV based on the new NU_IQ platform, an all-new electric SUV, the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup, a refreshed existing SUV and a new LCV. Mahindra is also increasing its production capacity to support the planned launches and meet demand for its existing vehicles.

One of the important upcoming products will be an SUV developed on Mahindra's NU_IQ architecture. The company unveiled this modular platform in August 2025, showcasing its potential to support different vehicle designs and powertrain configurations.
Mahindra previously presented four concepts based on this architecture: Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT and Vision.X. These concepts indicated the company's future direction for SUVs across different body styles and customer requirements.
Industry reports suggest that a production version inspired by the Vision.S concept could be among the first NU_IQ-based models to reach showrooms. However, Mahindra has not officially confirmed the production model's final name, engine options, dimensions or feature list.
The new architecture is expected to provide flexibility for different powertrain options, including front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. More information should become available closer to the vehicle's launch.
Mahindra is also preparing to introduce an all-new battery-electric SUV by June 2027. The upcoming model will expand the company's existing electric vehicle portfolio, which includes products such as the BE 6, XEV 9e and XEV 9S.
The new electric SUV is expected to strengthen Mahindra's position in the rapidly developing Indian EV market. However, the company has not officially disclosed its name, battery capacity, driving range, charging specifications or expected price.
Some industry reports have linked the upcoming electric SUV programme to the BE.07 concept. Its final production identity and positioning will need to be confirmed by Mahindra.
The launch will come at a time when electric SUVs are gaining attention in India, with buyers increasingly considering factors such as driving range, charging convenience, performance, connected technology and ownership costs.
The Scorpio Lifestyler pickup is another important product planned for the first half of 2027. Mahindra unveiled the lifestyle-oriented pickup in August 2026, and its India launch is expected by April 2027.
The vehicle is designed to combine the practicality of a pickup truck with the comfort and styling associated with an SUV. It is expected to appeal to buyers looking for a vehicle that can handle everyday driving as well as outdoor activities and utility requirements.
The pickup is based on Mahindra's next-generation body-on-frame architecture. This construction is suited to vehicles designed for demanding usage conditions and load-carrying applications.
The expected starting price has been indicated to be below Rs 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Final variant details, engine specifications, equipment and pricing will be announced closer to the launch.
Alongside its new SUV and electric vehicle programmes, Mahindra will introduce a refreshed version of an existing SUV.
The company has not officially identified the model or explained the changes planned for it. A refreshed vehicle could receive styling updates, additional features, revised equipment or other improvements to maintain its competitiveness.
Some reports have speculated that the Scorpio-N could receive an update as part of this programme. However, buyers should wait for an official announcement before treating the model's identity or expected changes as confirmed.
Mahindra's fifth planned launch will be a new light commercial vehicle. This product will strengthen the company's commercial vehicle portfolio, which serves businesses and customers involved in goods transportation and other utility operations.
Mahindra has not revealed the vehicle's name, payload capacity, engine specifications, body configuration or price.
The LCV launch is particularly relevant because the company continues to see demand for its small commercial vehicles and pickup range. A new product could help Mahindra address additional customer requirements in the last-mile delivery and small-business transportation segments.
The upcoming launches will be supported by an increase in Mahindra's manufacturing capacity. The company has been operating at full or slightly above full capacity because of strong demand for its SUVs.
Mahindra is targeting a combined monthly SUV and electric cars and other vehicle production capacity of around 82,000 units by the end of FY27. This is expected to include approximately 70,000 internal-combustion-engine SUVs and 12,000 electric vehicles per month.
The company is also planning additional capacity for its NU_IQ-based products. Its longer-term expansion plans include increasing monthly capacity at the Chakan facility and developing a new manufacturing facility in Nagpur.
These investments are intended to support upcoming products and reduce production constraints as the company expands its vehicle portfolio.
Mahindra's product plans come amid strong demand for its SUV range. The company reported SUV volumes of approximately 1.83 lakh units during Q2 FY27, representing year-on-year growth of around 26%.
It also reported 23,345 electric SUV billings in the domestic market during the quarter. Electric SUVs accounted for 12.7% of its SUV volumes.
The company has indicated that production capacity remains an important factor limiting its ability to meet demand. Increasing capacity alongside new product introductions could therefore play a significant role in its growth plans.
Mahindra's upcoming launch schedule indicates that the company is preparing to expand across multiple segments rather than concentrating only on conventional SUVs.
The NU_IQ-based SUV could introduce a new direction for its future vehicle architecture, while the all-new electric SUV will strengthen its EV range. The Scorpio Lifestyler will target lifestyle pickup buyers, and the refreshed SUV and new LCV will support the company's existing market presence.
Although several product details are still under wraps, the five-launch programme makes the first half of 2027 an important period for Mahindra in India.
More information about the upcoming vehicles, including their names, specifications, features and prices, is expected to emerge closer to their respective launch dates.
