Porsche is set to officially debut the all-electric Cayenne in India on September 30, 2026. The electric SUV will arrive as the brand expands its EV portfolio in the country, with the Cayenne Electric positioned alongside Porsche's existing petrol, hybrid and electric models. Prices have already been announced, starting at around ₹1.77 crore in India.
The Cayenne Electric is not simply an electrified version of the existing SUV. It uses a dedicated electric powertrain with a large battery, dual-motor all-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension and high-speed charging technology.
The India debut is scheduled for September 30, 2026. Porsche has already announced two versions for the Indian market: Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric.
The Cayenne Electric starts at approximately ₹1.77 crore, while the Cayenne Turbo Electric is listed at approximately ₹2.28 crore in India. Prices are ex-showroom/inclusive of applicable taxes depending on Porsche's configurator presentation.

At the heart of the Cayenne Electric is a 113kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive.
The standard Cayenne Electric can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.8 seconds, while the Turbo Electric cuts the same sprint to just 2.5 seconds. Top speeds are electronically limited to 230km/h and 260km/h respectively.
Porsche's latest official specifications list a combined WLTP range of up to 641km for the Cayenne Electric, while India-market reports quote up to around 642km. The Turbo Electric has a claimed range of around 623km.
The Cayenne Electric uses an 800-volt electrical architecture and supports DC charging at up to around 390kW, with Porsche quoting a 10-80 percent charging time of roughly 16 minutes under suitable conditions.
Porsche also offers an optional 11kW inductive/wireless charging system for home charging. This is one of the more unusual technologies available on the Cayenne Electric and allows the vehicle to charge through a dedicated charging plate.
Actual charging times will depend on charger output, battery temperature, state of charge and other operating conditions.
Although the Cayenne Electric has been developed around an electric architecture, Porsche has retained the recognisable SUV proportions associated with the Cayenne name.
The front gets a more enclosed grille area, while air vents and active aerodynamic elements help manage airflow around the battery and electrical components.
At the rear, the SUV features a full-width LED light bar with illuminated Porsche lettering. Buyers can also choose 20-, 21- and 22-inch wheel options depending on specification.
The electric Cayenne is larger than the combustion-powered model in some key measurements.

The 90-litre front luggage compartment, or frunk, adds another storage area to the conventional rear boot.
The cabin is another major change for the electric Cayenne.
The SUV gets a digital driver's display and a large 14.5-inch curved central infotainment screen. An optional 14.9-inch passenger display is also available, along with an augmented-reality head-up display.
Other available equipment includes:
The equipment list can vary depending on the selected variant and optional packages.
Performance isn't the only focus. Porsche is also emphasising everyday comfort.
Both Cayenne Electric variants are reported with adaptive air suspension as standard, while rear-axle steering is available as an option. This combination is designed to give the large electric SUV a balance between ride comfort and handling.
Porsche's own description of the Cayenne Electric also highlights its combination of performance, long-distance usability and everyday practicality.
The Cayenne Electric can recover energy through regenerative braking at rates of up to 600kW, depending on conditions.
Porsche says the system can handle a large majority of braking through the electric motors, reducing the need for conventional friction braking during many driving situations.
This should also contribute to the SUV's efficiency and help return energy to the battery during deceleration.
The Cayenne Electric will sit in India's growing luxury electric SUV segment. It will compete with high-end electric SUVs such as the BMW iX, Audi Q8 e-tron and Lotus Eletre, although its pricing, performance and positioning put it into a particularly premium part of the market.
The Cayenne name also gives Porsche an established SUV identity in India, while the electric version brings a completely different powertrain and charging experience.
The most notable aspects of the new Porsche EV are its combination of:
113kWh battery + dual-motor AWD + up to 642km claimed range + 390kW DC charging + adaptive air suspension + extremely high performance.
The Turbo Electric takes this further with 1,156 PS available with Launch Control and a claimed 0-100km/h time of only 2.5 seconds.
At the same time, the standard Cayenne Electric focuses on a longer claimed range and still offers a 4.8-second 0-100km/h acceleration time.
