Mahindra BE 6 SPORTEQ Teased Ahead of August 15 Debut With Triple-Screen Dashboard

Mahindra cars has released the first official teaser of the BE 6 SPORTEQ, previewing a major technology and design update for its electric SUV. The new version is scheduled to make its full debut on 15 August 2026.

The teaser confirms that Mahindra is preparing a significant cabin upgrade for the BE 6, with the most prominent change being a new three-screen dashboard layout. The updated model also introduces a sportier visual treatment, including a matte black exterior finish and contrasting interior elements.

Triple-Screen Dashboard Becomes the Highlight

The biggest addition to the BE 6 SPORTEQ is a new 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. This expands the existing dashboard arrangement from two screens to three.

The current BE 6 already features two 12.3-inch displays, one serving as the driver's instrument screen and the other as the central infotainment display. The newly added passenger screen is expected to provide additional entertainment and information functions while giving the cabin a more premium appearance.

This technology upgrade arrives as competition in India's premium electric SUV segment continues to increase. Triple-screen dashboards are becoming more common among newer electric SUVs, making the feature an important differentiator for Mahindra's updated BE 6.

Sportier Exterior and Interior Treatment

Alongside the new dashboard, the teaser provides a glimpse of the BE 6 SPORTEQ's matte black exterior finish. The cabin appears to feature a brown colour theme, complemented by red lighting elements that reinforce the performance-oriented character of the special version.

The visual changes are expected to give the BE 6 a more distinctive appearance without altering its fundamental design.

Existing Battery and Motor Options Expected to Continue

Despite the technology and styling updates, the BE 6 SPORTEQ is expected to retain the current electric powertrain options.

The BE 6 is available with 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs. The smaller battery version produces 231 PS and 380 Nm, while the larger battery variant delivers 285 PS and 380 Nm.

BE 6 SPORTEQ Could Boost Sales

The upcoming update could arrive at an important point for the BE 6. The electric SUV recorded 541 retail units in July 2026, considerably below its previous sales pace.

The decline could be linked to the transition towards the updated version, as production and inventory of the outgoing model may have been adjusted ahead of the new model's arrival.

With the addition of a passenger display, refreshed styling and other expected feature enhancements, Mahindra could use the SPORTEQ update to attract renewed interest in the BE 6.

Launch and Competition

Mahindra is scheduled to officially unveil the BE 6 SPORTEQ on 15 August 2026. More information regarding the complete feature list, variant structure and pricing is expected to be announced at the event.

The updated electric SUV will continue to compete in India's premium EV space against models such as the Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and other electric SUVs in the segment.

The triple-screen cabin, sporty styling and existing long-range battery options could give the BE 6 SPORTEQ a stronger appeal as Mahindra looks to increase its presence in India's rapidly expanding electric SUV market.
