Tata Motors has chosen an unconventional way to highlight the structural strength of its newly launched Aeris compact sedan.

Instead of relying only on conventional specifications and safety equipment, the company used two dramatic demonstrations at the launch event. One involved a Harrier.ev positioned above an Aeris, while another video showed the sedan being covered with what Tata described as 20 tonnes of rubble.

The demonstrations were designed to draw attention to the Aeris' structural construction and its ability to remain functional following the simulated rubble incident.

Harrier.ev Positioned Above the Aeris

The most striking part of the physical display was an Aeris iCNG placed beneath a large steel platform.

A Harrier.ev was positioned perpendicular to the sedan, creating a dramatic stacked-vehicle arrangement.

The electric SUV was supported by a substantial steel framework, while the Aeris remained underneath the structure.

The setup was primarily intended to demonstrate the strength of the sedan's roof and passenger compartment.

What Was Visible During the Demonstration?

Close-up images from the display showed several contact points around the edges of the Aeris' roof.

The steel framework appeared to distribute the load across multiple locations rather than placing the entire weight directly on a single section of the roof.

The cabin itself remained visibly intact, with the windshield and rear glass appearing to retain their shape.

Blocks could also be seen beneath the vehicle, although their exact function in the demonstration was not specified.

Tata's Safety Package for the Aeris

Alongside the structural demonstrations, Tata Motors has equipped the Aeris with a range of safety technologies.

The company says the sedan uses ultra-high-strength steel as part of its "Safety Dome" structural approach.

Standard safety equipment includes:

• ABS with EBD
• Corner Stability Control
• ISOFIX child-seat mounts
• Rear parking sensors

The company has also incorporated additional safety measures specifically for the iCNG variants.

• CNG leak detection

Safety equipment increases as buyers move higher in the Aeris range.

From the Pure+ variant onwards, the sedan gets features including:

• Electronic Stability Control
• Traction Control
• Hill Hold Control
• Tyre Pressure Monitoring System

The Creative variant adds a 360-degree camera, including different 2D and 3D viewing modes.

The range-topping Accomplished variant additionally gets a dashcam recorder.

A Blind View Monitor is also part of the Aeris' technology package.

The Aeris is offered with a 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine.

Customers can choose between:
