New Skoda Slavia Facelift Set for August 18 Launch: What to Expect

Skoda is preparing to introduce the updated Slavia in India on August 18, 2026. The facelift will bring styling and feature upgrades to the existing sedan while keeping its core design and powertrain lineup largely unchanged.

This update is expected to be one of the last major changes to the current-generation Slavia before Skoda eventually moves to an all-new model with a new platform, more technology and a wider range of features.

What the New Slavia Teaser Shows

Skoda's latest teaser confirms that an updated Slavia is on the way, although the company has not yet shown the entire car.

Previous test vehicles had already suggested changes to the sedan's front and rear sections. Rather than giving the Slavia a completely new body, Skoda is expected to follow an evolutionary design approach, similar to the changes made to the recently updated Kushaq.

The basic shape and proportions of the sedan are likely to remain familiar, while new exterior details will give it a fresher appearance.

Skoda is expected to retain the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines.

The smaller engine currently produces 116PS and 178Nm, while the 1.5-litre TSI develops 150PS and 250Nm.

The major mechanical change could come in the transmission department. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol version is expected to receive a new 8-speed torque-converter automatic, replacing the current automatic gearbox.

The 1.5-litre TSI is expected to continue with its 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic.

The current Skoda Slavia is priced between approximately ₹10 lakh and ₹18.19 lakh (ex-showroom). With the additional equipment and styling updates, the facelift is expected to receive a small price increase.

Skoda is expected to reveal the variant-wise prices on August 18, 2026, when the updated sedan officially makes its India debut.

The refreshed Slavia will continue to compete with models such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.

What Happens After the Facelift?

The 2026 facelift is expected to give the current Slavia a longer run in the Indian market before the arrival of its successor.

The next-generation sedan is expected to bring a new platform, more advanced technology, a larger feature package and potentially Level 2 ADAS. It could also offer a broader selection of powertrain options.
