Hyundai has added a new special edition to the Exter range with the launch of the Exter Knight, giving the compact SUV a more distinctive and sportier appearance. The new edition starts at ₹8.13 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in petrol and CNG configurations.
The Exter Knight is offered in four variants, with customers getting the choice of a 5-speed manual, AMT and Hy-CNG Duo setup depending on the variant. Unlike a major facelift, this edition focuses mainly on exterior and interior styling changes, while the mechanical package remains unchanged.
Hyundai has given the Exter Knight an extensive black-themed treatment. The SUV gets matte-black Hyundai and Exter badges, dark-grey bumper and side-sill garnishes, along with special Knight badging.
Higher variants are equipped with 15-inch black alloy wheels, complemented by red-painted front brake calipers. Lower versions receive dark-grey styled steel wheels instead.

The dark theme continues inside the cabin. Hyundai has equipped the Exter Knight with an all-black interior, highlighted by brass-coloured detailing on the dashboard and other areas.
The special edition also receives black semi-fabric upholstery, amber footwell lighting and a black D-cut steering wheel on selected variants. The rest of the cabin retains the familiar Exter layout and equipment package.
Depending on the variant, buyers continue to get features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, connected-car technology and automatic climate control, along with the SUV's existing safety equipment.
Hyundai has kept the Exter Knight mechanically identical to the standard model. It continues to use the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, which can be paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or Smart Auto AMT.
The special edition is also available with Hyundai's 1.2-litre Hy-CNG Duo powertrain, offered with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The 2026 Hyundai Exter Knight is priced between ₹8.13 lakh and ₹9.60 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and powertrain.
The launch also marks another milestone for Hyundai's Knight series. The company says its Knight editions have collectively crossed 1 lakh sales since the range was introduced in 2022.
With its black exterior treatment, brass-inspired cabin details and multiple powertrain choices, the Exter Knight gives buyers a more distinctive alternative to the standard Exter without changing the SUV's core mechanical package.
