1. Maruti Suzuki – 1,96,203 Units
Maruti Suzuki continued to dominate the Indian car market in July with 1,96,203 units. Its enormous volume was supported by a broad portfolio covering hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, MPVs and CNG models.
The company's leading products continue to include models such as the Swift, Wagon R, Dzire, Fronx, Brezza, Baleno and Ertiga.
2. Tata Motors – 62,611 Units
Tata Motors recorded 62,611 units in July 2026. The company maintained its strong position with a portfolio heavily focused on SUVs and electric vehicles.
Models such as the Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier and Safari remain important contributors, while Tata's growing EV range continues to add to its overall passenger-vehicle volumes.
3. Mahindra – 60,048 Units
Mahindra was close behind Tata with 60,048 units.
The company's SUV-focused strategy continues to pay off, with models including the Scorpio, XUV 3XO, XUV700/XUV 7XO, Thar and Bolero contributing strongly. Mahindra's expanding electric SUV portfolio is also becoming increasingly important.
4. Hyundai – 54,210 Units
Hyundai recorded 54,210 units in July. The company continues to rely heavily on SUVs, with the Creta, Venue, Exter, Alcazar and Tucson forming an important part of its lineup.
The Creta remained one of India's strongest-selling midsize SUVs during the month.
5. Toyota – 30,516 Units
Toyota sold 30,516 units in July.
The company's performance continues to be supported by popular models such as the Innova, Hyryder, Fortuner, Glanza and Rumion. The Innova and Fortuner remain particularly important to Toyota's overall volumes.
6. Kia – 28,200 Units
Kia India recorded 28,200 units in July. The company's SUV-heavy lineup continues to attract buyers, with the Seltos, Sonet, Syros and Carens/Clavis contributing to sales.
The Seltos recorded particularly strong demand during July.
Skoda and Volkswagen
The Volkswagen Group brands continued to operate at significantly lower volumes than the six leading manufacturers.
Skoda India sold 5,709 units, with the Kylaq remaining its biggest contributor. Slavia and Kushaq followed the compact SUV in the company's lineup.
Volkswagen India sold 2,715 units, with the Virtus and Taigun accounting for most of the brand's monthly volume.
